Kadary

Kadary Richmond is the type of player that you can only appreciate by watching him every night. Nothing stat wise jumps off the board, but he is the quintessential intangibles player - very high basketball IQ, slow heart beat, excellent vision, quick, strong hands, and elite level vision. He was only here one season, but he elevated the program to where we as fans now expect it to grow further. I am heartbroken for him that today's game and circumstances were how it ended, but I appreciate him and look forward to seeing him as a Caron Butler/Gary Harris type contributor in the NBA for the next decade. Best of luck, young man.

It is going to be hard for him to make an NBA roster. Wish I could get to watch him more, but the way the NBA game is, I don't see someone with his limited range getting the opportunity. Just 18% from 3 this season, and it seemed worse than that. Does everything else well. It's the St. John's curse. Only Chris Mullin and a few others overcame it.

Kadary Richmond: “I’m just thankful that [St. John’s] allowed me to come here and be the person that I am.”

This is a great quote because he is a unique player and personality. It took me a while to warm up to him, but his efficacy and impact on a college basketball game is undeniable.

Best of luck to this young man!

If he wants to stick in the NBA, he needs to drastically improve his shot. Won't make it shooting 18% from 3 and 54% from the FT line.

The only way he could have avoided getting called for that fifth foul, was to let the guy walk in and score. He played good defense, the refs just anticipated something happening, that did not. I don't know how you're supposed to "adjust" to that.
Poor shooting aside...if KR doesn't get in foul trouble (and he hasn't fouled out in years I believe), I think we win...have to believe he would have created some opps for others and absolutely would have gotten to rim a number of times.

But, coulda...woulda...

Deflating but glad we had KR and all of these kids

Kadary had a great year for us. I was skeptical early on mostly because of chatter during his last year with Hall but was dead wrong. He was the ultimate team first player, great facilitator, rebounder and defender and so darn strong. Tough way to go out yesterday but so thankful for what he brought to the Johnnies and wish him all the success in the world going forward.

Truly crummy way for Kadary to go out. Unfortunately everyone's season ends with a loss except for one team. But wish we got to the Sweet 16 for him. He deserved it.
This.

For the whole team.

Amazingly successful season but a failed tournament. Both can be true. They had to get to second week.

Makes me wonder if winning the BET hurt us. Was such a needed milestone but got us the lowest 2 seed as opposed to highest 3 seed. Food for thought.

Yeah, the Kansas/Ark second round menu was head turning, at least to me.

What team wouldn't want a Kadary on your roster? In Providence, the scoreboard sucks. There are no individual stats posted. All season long, Kadary consistently piled up assists and rebounds, in many games close to the points he scored, and it was fun to watch his stats mount. Cool Hand Luke - never got rattled. Great teammate. Many of his assists were pinpoint accuracy passes for layups, or the result of his drives breaking down a defense. More than any player, even taking it to the hole, would pass up a shot to give a teammate an easy deuce.

He will have a long career somewhere, but Brooklyn is home. He'll always get a warm welcome when he visits MSG as a fan for a Johnnies game.

I agree that without foul calls, it's a different game. Gonna miss this kid.
