They have spent a lot of time with Team Rio kids.
 
Indiana's Tom Crean, St. John's Chris Mullin, Georgetown's John Thompson III and many other high level coaches watched Lewis and Antoine this weekend, but one coach really stuck out to Antoine.

"I'm going to be honest with you," Antoine said. "Whenever any coach comes up and watches our game I'm usually pretty chill. But when coach Cal [John Calipari] came up, not going to lie, Jalen Gaffney and I saw him come up to watch us, that was the first time I've ever been starstruck by a coach."

Lewis and Antoine are the real deal.. It has been said before but Mike Rice a guy ( if ever interested) makes a whole lot of sense as an assistant coach here.

Lewis and Antoine are the real deal.. It has been said before but Mike Rice a guy ( if ever interested) makes a whole lot of sense as an assistant coach here.

Agree 100%. Funny how some guys don't want to give him a chance, but suggest a role for a convicted felon, because he is "family". Oh well, each to their own.
 
It would work for both parties. Rice would benefit from working with Mullin and Richmond. Mullin and staff would benefit from Rice's experience and coaching knowledge at this level. It would be a step forward for Rice and it could be an important piece for St John's.

But I guess the athletic department already has enough work going on at the moment.
 
Is Klatsky another Jewish kid? Class of 72 would be happy.

Mike Rice make me cringe. It takes a special type of person to behave the way he did. I balance that sentiment with our desperate need for tangible coaching experience.

I can live with him as a short term assistant (maybe two years). We could be a perfect match since we fulfill each others needs. We will need an inexpensive, experienced coach and he needs a second chance.

I'm fine with both as long as we keep the basketballs away from Rice during practice

And soon we might have so many assistants on the bench that Mullin might need to sit on the scorers table and then I wouldnt be able to complain about it :)

While it probably won't come to pass, I would much prefer to see Richmond stay in his present role and hire an experienced assistant coach.
