Jordan Sighting

Sheed recently tweeted that he will be entering the D league draft and is now in Florida to train.

Aaaaand he just tweeted this:

@____whynot: I can go home and put with my home team temple....

Huh? Is he saying he might play for Temple?
This begs the question: did Jordan actually hire an agent? If not, can he try to regain NCAA eligibility?

Safely it is senseless to try to interpret what he says. Not worth trying IMO.

As much talent as he has, really glad to have turned the page and moved on. Wherever he goes, drama will follow.

I enjoyed watching him, think he was a good player w a lot of talent. However IMO. he had emotional problems. Truth be told, if we weren't in a position like we were last year, w only 1 BE caliber backup, he should have been thrown off the team last year w all his no shows.

He just lacked the maturity, skills, and academic preparedness to be in college. Good luck to him, though. I'd hesitate to call him a good kid, because I was speaking to two athletic department interns that knew him who both said the exact words, "He's a bad kid." Wouldn't call that gospel. just an opinion that would stop me from saying gracious things about him.

@NYPost_Brazille: Rysheed Jordan with his best game so far in D-League yesterday, scoring 13 points in 23 minutes. #sjubb

So Delaware 87ers, Rysheed Jordan's NBA D-League team, in Westchester for third time. Also third time he hasn't made trip. #sjubb

Must be studying game film.

This is really a shame. I don't like where his situation is headed. He missed such an opportunity. I hope he can turn it around somehow.

Doesn't like to play in Westchester arena, says it reminds him of Carnesecca. Says will play Westchester Knicks if they move game to MSG.

Talent above the neck is just as important as talent below the neck.

What a colossal waste of talent

If he had a brain and no attitude he would be a nice piece to the team this year.

He would have helped immensely. Probably would have been one of the top 5 players in the Big Easy. But we know he was never going to be here. Never would have done the work to make himself eligible and would have been jettisoned by Mullin the second he started his act. Guy isn't showing up for professional games and we think he is gonna go to class?

If that were the case he'd be the best 3 players on this team.

It's not that he isn't showing up for games, it's the team deactivating him from the active roster for these games.

Talent wasted.

Back in the days where being a schoolyard legend meant something, there were a slew of guys not cut out for college, derailed by drugs, crime, or severely deficient academic prowess who washed out or never got the chance. It's easy for SJU fans to be a little ticked at Jordan for washing out, but in the end it will not affect any of us one bit, and 15 years from now he will have a name that some will recognize, but little else to show for it. Sad.

Agreed. But you know as well as I do that he wasn't lasting here. Happy - one of the most respected, unbiased posters on this site, IMO -- wrote a great post at the of end of Jordan's tenure, illuminating even more of the situation that some of us had heard snippets of. Basically, Sheed would leave for days at a time during the season, and no one would know where he was. He was enrolled in only online classes last year. If not for Phil Greene, Sheed would have been gone by his freshman year.

"@NYPost_Brazille: Missed this other day. Rysheed Jordan was waived by Delaware 87ers. #sjubb"

For some reason I still follow Rysheed Jordan on Instagram. This morning's picture would have made anyone cringe. Photof of sexual activity in progress.

Real waste of talent and it is sad that he actually believes he is getting drafted this year.
