Jon Severe, SG

Alot of people on this site when talking about recruiting they say we need jordan or severe, so i am just clarifying, are we involved with him, did we offer, are we on his list?

We are NOT involved with Severe, at all.

Just those posters who see NYC kid and no STJ interest so they kick and scream.

So who should be we going after in '13 based on our needs?

We have 1 ship right now. Were going after a Top 30 player.

If another pops up its frontcourt help IMO. Not another borderline guard who will fall into a crowded backcourt.

Agree we need to pursue someone special i.e. Jordan but have a special back up player if that falls thru I feel at this time frame
coach must feel 90% that we can get him or he would have backed off

Fordham, really? For NYS's top bb senior? Not sure what that says. Don't get me wrong, FU is a great university, just not a bb power.

He goes there and he can play and not get recruited over like he would at a school like Pitt or WVU. Or go to Wake where the coach will get fired this year. Smart move if its true.

Totally agree with you Moose. Plus Fordham had another fellow sign with them a few weeks ago who is supposed to be a pretty good basketball player. Maybe TP is finally turning the program around.

Appears a safe pi . but feel he should have picked a school .in a power conference with .a named coach and staff Think it . would bode him better for hopes of next .level However it can be accomplished from any program

Well, for one thing, it says that NYC HS basketball isn't what it used to be.

Going to a big program limits his minutes, which doesn't do much for next-level hopes. And I hope you mean Europe when you say next level, because short shooting guards get no love from NBA scouts. He'll have a four-year green light under Pecora, and better chance to work on combo skills there than at Pitt or W.Va.

I think it's unfortunate that the second-highest level of college basketball is Fordham, though. Too bad Stony Brook wasn't in the A-10.

Fordham is barely in the top 10 in NY/NJ...don't see why he would go there

The A-10 is the most competitive non-BCS conference with a hometown school, so Fordham fits the bill.
