Jon Scheyer

If Pitino is not in the mix--and he is a long shot at best-- then I would be really surprised if Cragg doesn't go with a Duke guy. Cragg spent 30 years at Duke. It's like someone spending 30 years at Goldman Sachs--they are just culturally ingrained to think "their $hit is ice cream." So it would not surprise me to see him take a Scheyer if Hurley (and Pitino) weren't available. Cluess would be downright slumming it. (Although I would personally take Cluess over a Scheyer)
 
First reaction would be a letdown, but to be honest I don't know much about him. Wojo was seen as a great hire and he was also a Duke AC. What's different about this situation?

This program has a 100+ year tradition and is now at a major crossroads.
You don't hire anybody with no coaching experience.

Wojo spent 15 years as an assistant at duke with close to half as associate head coach. Plus Marquette was in a pretty good spot when they made their hire. I would root for him but excited not so much.

Just doesn't seem the hire to make, following paying $4mm to pay CM to step down. Seems totally bizarre imo.
