John McGriff Recent Workout Courtesy of Moose

Calvin Murphy was definitely a 5'9 or at most 5'10 kid who could dunk with no problem. Had the pleasure of watching him at Alumni Hall way back in the day

Does that make McGriff the same size as Figueroa? Cause if we are 'guestimating' based on a seated photo with O'Connell being 6'2, then Figgy has to be 6'1 or 6'0 because he looks shorter in that photo, no?
 
Hard to imagine today, but Calvin Murphy listed at 5'9' and 165 lbs. played 13 years in the NBA in the 70s and early 80s and averaged 18 ppg, shooting 48% from the field and 89% from the line. A contemporary of Pistol Pete. Played all but one year with the same team. Just a great career after averaging over 30 ppg in college at Niagra.

I remember CM putting on a dribbling exhibition before the game at Alumni Hall. He was spectacular.

He looks taller than Heron as well. Who cares how tall he is, he's one of us, and that's what matters.

Did he do his baton twilling act also?
 
Who cares about his height? Ryan Boatright was no bigger than 5’8” and could leap out of the gym and he was a SG. McGriff dunks with two hands with ease and is a PG. He will be more than fine and I think he will be at minimum solid.

Of course that's all that matters. Point is, it's silly to compare height by using a picture of people sitting. Figgy is at least 6'5 which is 3+" taller than O'connell, yet he looks shorter sitting near him.

Boatright is very generously listed at 6’0” which he has not.
 
Who cares about dunking? It's two points. Sink some threes and clutch foul shots and I don't care if you can dunk.

Its part of the games and makes it exciting I love the dunks during the game.It can change momentum for a team

Let’s hope McGriff can shoot FT’s as good as Calvin Murphy. If I remember correctly he was almost a 90% FT shooter. Now that would make me happy. :)
