When I went to watch that, this other video came up. The guy narrating this sounds like he has some cognitive issues but there are some nice clips. I'd just mute it though...

Is he still 5’ 9”? He was dunking with ease. Either crazy hops or added some inches.

Obviously an athletic player at his height. If he can lead an offense from the PG position I think he can have success at this level. Defense is more of my worry with him.

I love small quick guards. This kid has incredible hopes and ball control. The classic sparkplug off the bench who can change momentum.

Good to see he’s healthy and quite athletic. He will certainly help us and we have another Pg when Dunn graduates so that position is set for now.

McGriff reminds me of a more athletic Lovett. If he can develop his stroke like Lovett did he will be high level player.

I'm not concerned about his defense even if he's an "okay" defender. If he's a good or elite defender then his size could really play a huge factor being he's so cat quick and plays so close to the ground that he could seriously harass taller ball handlers.

Fall down the YouTube hole. There are good videos of him being a pest on defense

I’m sure he can be a pest on defense with his quickness. But what happens when he has to defend a 6’4” PG that just shoots over him?

CMA wants quick and athletic players that understand his defensive schemes and have the fast hands and instincts to create havoc on defense and speed up the game. Since his attacking mode on defense causes a lot of turnovers, he wants players that can get down the court quickly and finish or find the open man on the break. I think McGriff will earn his minutes. What a great dilemma to have: finding minutes for quality players. I can't remember saying that in a long, long time.

What happens when that same 6'4" PG has to facilitate the offense and has trouble running the offense because he's constantly being harassed by McGriff?

Yea it goes both ways. A mismatch on one end is mismatch on the other.

John Linehan was the biggest pain in the ass on Prov

Right ... and with a touch of Al Gore.

I was gonna refer you Linehan as well. It’s rare when one Pg Is able to just roll up and keep popping shots because they’re taller. Add to that, Iron Mike’s harassing defense doesn’t give teams opportunities to just run offense freely. He fits us well and I really had no idea he was that athletic. Really dunks without effort and doesn’t look like height will hold him back from anything. Handle and passing are sick as we’ve seen in other videos and he’s shoulder doesn’t look like it’s hampering him. Happy to have another true Pg here.

If he can hit his shots so they can't back off of him he's gonna break a lot of ankles and we're gonna get a lot of open three's when he's in the game. I suspect he's also gonna pick a lot of pockets and cause a lot of TO's by speeding up PG's on the other end. Perfect for CMA's game. Hopefully will be fun to watch.
