Joe Panik

He finished the season batting .305. I think he has enough at bats to challenge for Rookie of the Year.
deGrom will win it.

Definitely deGrom, as it should be.
Tying the modern day record for strikeouts to start a game cemented that. He was just automatic the second half of the season. 2.63 ERA as a rookie...wow.

He only played in 73 games with only 1 homer, 10 doubles, and no steals. Very solid B.A. and a good OBP around .345, but not near enough games.

Would have liked to see deGrom pitch one more game like he wanted to in an attempt to get his 10th win as double figure wins looks a little more impressive. Could have limited him to 5 innings if worried about his season work load as he was at 178 and they wanted to cap him at 180-185.

Panik solved the Giants' second base problem after Scutero went down and other options were tried...They're in the playoffs. deGrom was a nine game winner who had no impact on a pennant race.
