Isaiah might've turned out to be a dodged bullet

We have our own bullet

Do any of our kids fear for their safety?

He was talking about Iona.

Everyone seems to be talking about them these days

They are not even talked about in New Rochelle.

Tonights game has more juice than any St Johns game this year outside of Duke.

Yeah, #62 v #213 RPI has them all aflutter, well at least in a few homes in New Rochelle.

Yet both coaches have people drooling in Queens. Go figure

Either coach would complete the mid-majorization of the program. I know you live in Queens so I guess your statement is correct, but no one knowledgeable feels that way.

I live in Long Island

No you live ON Long Island. You live in a town or village. PS Queens is ON Long Island as well.

Whatever floats your boat

LMFAO!!! The only juice for another cupcake match will be passed around in the parking lot by some sorry ass Iona fans. They even have a favorite wine to go with their cupcakes.

Listen, I understand why the schedule makers in Queens don't answer those calls from New Rochelle. Wasn't pretty last time

Listen, there are just so many low to mid majors St. John's can add to their schedule. We needed to make room for Duke, Syracuse, Gonzaga and the Minnesotas of the world while you were losing to Wofford.

Wofford is 20-6. How's that D2 win helping out?

Problem is this: St. John's will have played in 18 games against teams ranked in the top 100 RPI and Iona 2, both of which you lost pitifully. Wofford has a decent team and at least plays a challenging schedule. Something that can't be said about Iona.

Serious question, do you consider Buter,Creighton, Xavier majors or mid majors?

Your shtick is getting old. All of your posts show your mastery in the art of hyperbole, in the way you talk up Iona and talk down SJU. In no way does tonight's game get anything other than a mention.

Heck, I don't even think you care. Afterall, you are always posting on SJU boards.

He only came back over here because the overall tone on this board was to his liking. He's been over here more in the past few days because Dave locked up Smith's (aka Baldi on JJ) "Iona" thread. IMO, a thread that was locked up nearly 5 years too late.

If we don't make the tourney and we do not get Diallo, do you want Lavin back?

Lavin doesn't deserve to be back. But I sure as hell don't want any of those two coaches here.

Not my first choice either, but if no tourney / no Diallo I would like to go in a different direction and bring in a good game coach who recruits to his system and not necessarily the best available ESPN top 100 kid. If you want to call that "mid-majorization", then I personally would not have a problem with it.

Is Butler consider a mid major?

To WASJU's question of me. I would rather retain Lavin than hire Massiello or Cluess. Doesn't mean I'm in favor of retaining Lavin in your scenario but there's more variables than the two you mention and not all of them are decided as of yet,nor am I.

Now to Baldi's nonsense. It goes to show that even a trolling fool finds a nut every once in a while. Two year's in it's hard to tell, so is the BE still a major conference? I think you have to give the new conference one full recruiting cycle to see. Talk to me in the spring of 2017. Regarding individual teams I think they are all also in a state of flux right now with only Nova and maybe GTown looking like they have a stranglehold on Gonzaga-esque major status if the BE can't maintain what, as of now, looks like a strong position. I'm positive in my outlook but not 100% sure if the lack of $ and exposure will hurt the new conference long term. A lot rides on Fox making a success of the college hoops coverage and FS1.

Re the Big Boy Dance, I am glad that Baldi is proud that his school has an above average chance to win the conference tourney of the 21st best conference in the nation. Watching mediocre teams play okay basketball so they can lose in the first round of the tourney obviously means nothing to me or I'd be a big fan of a team in the 15th ranked conference in the country, even though they "don't offer athletic scholarships". But instead I'm a fan of high level basketball and the product on offer from the 2nd best conference in the country is heads and shoulders above either of the other options in this para. Sure it means there is actually a difficult road to the big boy dance, but really, should I become a fan of Long Beach State because they make the tourney twice as much as any other team in the Big West? No, if I need to switch allegiances I'll certainly move to a Pac 12 team.
