Kennesaw State transfer James Scott is taking an unofficial visit to St. John's today, per a source. Maryland, New Mexico & Louisiana Tech the most recent to reach out. Averaged 17.3 PPG last season.

I'd take him of course, because he's legacy, and because he's dominated at a lower level. I actually prefer that to high-major transfers in general (though I do like Simon and Clark), because those type of players usually have an obvious flaw in their game/personality that will inevitably come to light. Someone like this has nothing to prove at a lower level, and may be hungry for the increased competition.

That being said, he's another sit-out transfer. Not what we need right now.

‘Think’ he was a 2* out of HS And was listed as 6’3”-6’4” back then. Listed as 6’5” now—nice ‘height inflation’!
Did very well at Kennesaw State. They’ll ‘hurt’ losing him—although at 10-20, about everything ‘hurts’!
Don’t know if this is ‘real’ but luv the notion of ‘sons’ playing at their dads’ Alma Maters’.

They will try to fill that need & sense his grad transfer big(s) still are playing

I’m not sure if we’re going to get him, but if you’re worried about his low major numbers, ignore that.

This is his scoring against high major programs ( Pac-12, Big East)

1)Against The Washington Huskies he had 21 points and 3rebs and 3ast

2) Against Butler he had 26 points in only 25 minutes of action

3) Against Florida State he had 17, 4ast and 4rebs.

4) Against Texas Tech he had 17 points.

So against good quality teams he’s performed well.

I thought we weren't interested. I guess things change quickly in this landscape

...and he was on the All Freshman Team of the ASUN Conference.
BE-quality big(s) first, but James Scott would seem a great addition for the 2019-20-21 seasons.

That's assuming he doesn't graduate after 2019-20 and then decides to play his fifth year elsewhere. (Sound familiar?)

The kid was 34% from 3-pt land, and hit at a 42% all-in FG rate, but made 64% of his 2-pt range shots, and shot 80% from the foul line. His A/TO rate was negative but he had 50 steals this season.

Yes, but Owens' father mentioned how the offense is guard oriented, and Tariq would not get enough touches.

Since this kid is a guard, that should not be an issue.

I goofed on James Scott’s 2-pt ‘hit’ ratio: he made 46% of his shots from 2-pt range—NOT 64%!
By comparison, Shamorie made 49% of his 2-pt range shots.
Sorry.
Fake stats!

Geech, this is embarrassing. Shamorie made 51% of his 2-pt shots—NOT 49%...and I haven’t started drinking yet!
Apologize!

Where the heck are you getting your stats from, the White House?

Eagerly await your next update although if Ponds gets to over 100% I will begin to get suspicious. ;) :)

I would argue that he's exactly what we need. Ponds may come back for one year, but I can't imagine we see him come back for two.
