I think he was our starting PF this season, so losing him for a semester stung, but losing him until Gathers shows up stings worse. And you can bet your life there are people in Gathers' ear right now talking about the demise of the Big East.
Yeah but either way this de-commitment shouldn't be that blown out of proportion. That small forward position was over stacked anyway.
Sampson could've also played some PF.

I mean as far as this season yea he coulda helped a bit but I'd rather take that extra ship for 2012, regardless this season was gonna be this season I honestly wasn't expecting a final four appearance or anything along those lines. I'd much rather load up and comeback with super sophs and 4 exceptional freshman. However i don't fear for the worst this season either, jay wright made it a habit of going deep in the tourney with those 4 guard lineups with Allen ray, nardi etc. So a NCAA berth for this 6,7 man rotation were looking at wouldn't surprise me. Harkless and pointer will pick up the slack
Oh well, move on. Lavin will as well. ... "
Parker, Upshaw, whoever is open to listeningOh well, move on. Lavin will as well. Need to get some new guys in the fold. Even more, we need to get out conference straightened out. Let's remember though, that lots of conferences are shaken up and moving now, so it's not only SJU that is going through this. We severely need some big guys heading into next season and beyond. Lavin will have to add some new kids to his recruiting slate, that's all,
I really cant see what has gone on this week has any effect on his decision. If the BE holds to the 27 month notice, the league would be the same until at least the middle of 2014, which would be Sampsons ears. what I think happens is people get into a kids ear and tells him he can go elsewhere. What bothers me about this is that I am pretty sure that st johns did everything it could to get him eligible and then less then a week after the announcement he is looking elsewhere.
I dont know maybe I am older and feel that you should hold true to your word, but I guess it is a diffeent world today.
that name draws an immediate visceral reaction...puke coming...3...2...1...uggggghhhhCan't wait for Lenn Robbins reaction
Per teammate Mitch McGary's Twitter. Also former Brewster teammate Khalid McKaskill who is walk on at UCLA this year is asking if he likes UCLA.
Not necessarily with Gathers. Not much has changed for him, except missing out on a Pitt or Cuse game his Soph season onward. It's what happens this next two months before signing day that matter. If nothing else happens, it'll be fine. If all heck breaks loose, then there may be some players holding off on their signing. I personally think he'll sign no problem.I think he was our starting PF this season, so losing him for a semester stung, but losing him until Gathers shows up stings worse. Absolutely agree about Gathers. This BE mess is going to have awful consequences.

Moose, so what is the tweet ?? As of yesterday he gave mixed messages to friends on the SJ campus. Also, if true, the one of the three that would have had a tough time cracking the starting lineup with Gathers next year. If this is actually the case the staff will want an official de-commit so they can lock up the Philly kid.
