I have a feeling he'll never wear a Johnnies uni. Hopefully, Garrett's father is right when he mentioned his son and Pelle would work hard to be in Queens come December.

Hopefully, he targets a player of similiar ilk or a center. I'm fine with this staff having multiple scholarships. I'm sure they'll get a solid player in return.
 
Not a shock if true. I said on either here or JJ that the first statement was correct, and the second one from his camp was a damage control lie to keep the kid from looking like a jerk.
 
I guess Sampsons dad's quote, that he was committed to st johns was a bit off base. I guess if universities have no loyality, them why should recruits. the last couple of weeks have sort of made me not like college athletics as much.

 Well Norvel's buddies have been joning on him about going to Riverside CC or SDSU...Norvel's deflected it so far, but he's not retweeting any supportive tweets. I think he's not sure what the deal is right now - anyone have any updates on NP's game plan this fall?
 
 Maybe he realized he wasn't gonna beat out Gathers.

Really don't care about that. Its another hit for this season. Plus the negative press keeps rolling.

 I thought the same - the first statement was IN QUOTES, so unless the reporter was stoned, they probably got it right. I guess the grass is always greener effect has yet again kicked in. Anecdotally, about 5-10% chance of a decommit recommitting to same school.
 
We do have to keep in mind, these are 17 and 18 year old kids........He can read all of the things that are going on in the world of Basketball and Football and he wants to see if he can find something else.......I think he is making a mistake, but it is his choice to make.I wish him luck in all future pursuits.  
 
 A combination of A.Jefferson or Joel James or Chris O along with Garrett and pelle coming in the 2nd semester would make me forget all about this past week of nonsense

Unless, the staff has been keeping tabs on Jefferson then I believe that ship has sailed. We haven't been mentioned with him in awhile.
 
 I really cant see what has gone on this week has any effect on his decision. If the BE holds to the 27 month notice, the league would be the same until at least the middle of 2014, which would be Sampsons ears. what I think happens is people get into a kids ear and tells him he can go elsewhere. What bothers me about this is that I am pretty sure that st johns did everything it could to get him eligible and then less then a week after the announcement he is looking elsewhere.


I dont know maybe I am older and feel that you should hold true to your word, but I guess it is a diffeent world today.

 It's the misguided youth of Akron possibly making bad choices... the only consistency comes from Akron's finest, the loyal and beloved Black Keys - lol :huh:
 
 Yeah but either way this de-commitment shouldn't be that blown out of proportion. That small forward position was over stacked anyway. And if he had plans to play him as a stretch 4 we have 2 ships to fill that position now. So regardless of who we go after next as long as were fixing the pg and low post hole ima happy camper

 Would have some work to do on AJ. Turgeon and staff's been working hard on Amile. OSU pressing hard to fight Nova too. I think he wants to go away from Philly, but not too far. Hence, Terps, OSU, SJU good fits. Maybe Lavs has extra incentive with Kar now out.
