Mets fans, how excited are you about this kid?!
Who do you think will be the better pitcher, deGrom or Wheeler? What about Syndergaard?

I can't even believe that deGrom is in this discussion at this point. I wouldn't have guess even three months ago. This scout says he would not trade Harvey and deGrom: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/harper-mets-degrom-keeper-article-1.1862939

I saw another scout write early LAST YEAR that he thinks deGrom's upside was All-Star. That seems to be a lot higher than what anyone else was guessing earlier than last fall where he seemed to top out as a #3 starter according to many scouts. Now, I think he looks like he has at least #2 starter potential. Wheeler might have better stuff, but deGrom seems to have better intangibles at this point.

Syndergaard has been a let down statistically this year....awful ERA.

Syndergaard has had some injuries and he places in a crappy place but still he's only 21 I think. The future bright.
1b: Duda until Dom Smith arrives
2B: Murphy until Dilson Hererra
SS: Renolyds until Cecchini arrives (He still worries me)
3B: Wright
CF: Lagares until Nimmo comes
RF: Granderson
LF: Conforto.
C: D'Arnaud (I still think he is better long term answer than Plawecki)

Starting Pitchers:
Harvey
deGrom
Wheeler
Matz
Thor

Bullpen: whoever can throw 97 or greater, welcome!

All of our decent position prospects are pretty far down in the system. Need significant lineup upgrades through FA and/or trades.

LF and 1B are the glaring needs despite whatever numbers Duda puts up this season.

LA Dodgers appear to have one too many outfielders and they aren't looking for pitching. Possible fire sale!

And does this team have a legit lead off hitter in Lagares?
I don't believe he is. The management is love with EY as much as Lavin is in love with PGIII. I don't get it. Right now, our best option is Granderson hitting leadoff. Wright needs to pick his game up in a serious way. The season is probably already gone but you gotta believe! I don't want to mortgage our staff on anyone unless his name is Giancarlo Stanton. Nelson Cruz still hurts but what can you do. A lot of teams can say that. Chris YOung !@!@#@#$$#@$#$@%#$%

Tulowitzki for Zack Wheeler, Rafael Montero, Dominic Smith.
Do you do it?
Intersting idea by you.

No I wouldnt. I'm probably the only one but I dont really want Tulo. What is he 30 or 31 ? And so in his prime he has averaged something like 120 games a year the last 6 or 7 years. Also I dont really want players who play in Colorado ( yes his numbers arent bad away from Colorado ) but going from Colorado to the place where long balls go to die in citiefield I'll pass. Aside from the fact he is owed a boatload of money the next few or several years

I would do it but I don't think the Rockies would. Wheeler would be the guy I would use to get back a star.

Not really. I stole it off a Mets blog.

If he wasn't so brittle, I would do it in a second. Naturally the asking price would be much higher.

This I think is crazy...

Jeff Passan at Yahoo! Sports reports the Mets would be willing to trade Noah Syndergaard in a deal for Troy Tulowitzki.

And out the window goes any interest I had in him.....

SS Troy Tulowitzki will undergo labral repair surgery on his left hip Friday in Vail, Colo. will miss rest of season.

Yep. No way do I want him

With him out for the season you'd have thought he'd be on our dl list with our luck

Giancarlo Stanton just sounded off on the Marlins futility again leading to trade speculation.

I would bet the house and literally tell the Marlins to please pick someone from our rotation, bullpen and a position player from the minors thank you.

What would you give up for him?
