I'll say this as a fan, and I think for a player it is true many times over. When you play in the big dance for the first time, it is nothing like anything you've ever experienced. From selection Sunday, till you arrive at the arena for shootaround and game, there is an entirely different aura. You are playing for all of the marbles, part of the quest for a national championship. For years, 15 or 16 seeds threatened to upset a 1 or 2, and reality sets in late in the game, and the pressure of every possession counting is as daunting as your actual opponent. Cluess is a great coach, after all these years, this was his baptism, for him and his players. Don't expect this to have any long term effect on him - the next time he competes in the tourney, he will be better prepared.
