Inside The Big East

Cuse will not be nearly as dominant in the ACC. They also have the benefit of seemingly playing at home 90% of their games. Didn't matter tonight though.

st.j's should never play in dome again unless its ncaa regional screw them they need a game on our court

But then you're willing to give up the sweet taste of beating them at the Dome the way the Hoyas did today.

Nova just feels like a different team than us. I see them up to play #17 Marquette and I think to myself "they can easily win it". With us up against #17 Marquette I think "we can win it, but the odds are well against us". We are still at the point where beating any ranked team is a huge deal. Nova is at the point where they have a shot against anyone in the nation. It has been like this for years now...I root against Nova and all they do is win and against the top teams too. If you wouldn't be more confident as a Nova fan going down this stretch then I think you are honestly lying to yourself. If I had to bet who gets further this year, I would probably be confident betting a lot on Nova vs. us. That doesn't mean I don't want us to be better...obviously I do badly. We just aren't at their level yet and look around...they were 1 of 5 teams projected to go from good to great next year. We were not in there. I just see us as a solid team that can take teams down, but we still get beat by the biggest competition and we have too many inexplicable losses. I don't think we are consistent enough yet.

Joe, why do I get the impression that any romantic relationships you've ever been in were absolute disasters?

Signs of a narcissism?

If Lavin sought my counsel, which he won't and shouldn't, I'd advise him to forget about a kid's athleticism and look for a kid who can play and understand BB...

We've been killed this season by outside shooting, slow footed, small guards that can and do drill the 3..

Maybe Steve should begin a search for the Archidonato, Heslip,Doolin, Cotton type players .. They are clearly better shooters than anybody we have shooting the 3.. Marc A. is still a work in progress and it makes you wonder why it took so long to get him off the bench.. Greene must still think he's on bench the way he ignores him

Too much is made about slow kids defense.. W e have athletes who can barely spell defense.Their great leaping ability doesn't mean much when other school's kids can leap just as high. And, rebound better..

And, too much is made about Top 100 kids. Some of them couldn't find the basket with a map. And, free throws?

Good pt thought it was me .but he hardly .ever throws the ball to him even when he is open We are always late hitting the open man with the pass Better passing in our zone and better picks and .better give and goes and better use of the back door would really help our offense

At the end of the Marquette/SUcks game last night, the crowd was chanting Catholic 7.
Very Cool.

I'd love a C7 team to beat one of the other teams in the BE Tournament this year and that chant to break out at MSG

Heckuva game going on in Storrs. UConn has came back from a double-digit deficit to take the game into OT.

Yes, and they were tough, but Smith-Rivera was great on defense during the OT's and hit a huge 3 to keep G'Town in it and help them eventually pullout the win. Another C-7 victory.

If not for the NCAA ban, UCONN would likely be another Big East team dancing this year.

Sure for a few reason. First, they're UConn and would get the benefit of reputation. Two, they have no bad losses, they did beat the teams they were supposed to beat. They have 1 good win at Syracuse and one pretty good win at UND and a BS win in Germany against Mi St. They have the easiest schedule in BE conference play with their doubles against Cincy, Providence, USF and Depaul. I think because they were ineligible for the BET and NCAA the conference didn't want them messing any of the good teams up so they gave them those teams and yet they can still ruin Cincy's chances if they're not ruined already. SB should have beat them (and Seton Hall).

Having spent almost 40 years in Ct, I can attest they are moribund at the aspects of playing Tulane, east Carolina, ucf, smu, etc.
They are by far the biggest losers of all in the realignment.

I truly believe they will be in the ACC when all is said and done.

If the Big 10 poaches a couple more ACC teams after the basketball season or in the next 12 months as rumored you almost certainly right.

They will then have more time to spend with their barnyard animals.

I never saw Pitino so livid as on that bad charge call late in the game. Big Three by Hancock to win it.
Love to see the Cuse loose at home. The Cuse board must be rockin. Even Ian Eagle was crying
calling the game.

Big win yesterday by Pitt, who have now won 3 straight since being tied with St. John's. They came from behind against Nova and won in OT.
Now Nova sits at 9 and 8 with 2 straight loses. A win tomorrow by St'.John's against ND and we are tied again. What a season!
Syracuse has lost 3 straight and Johnnies have lost 4 out of 5 . How you play down the stretch is usually the most important
criteria for consideration.

TIS, I haven't been in CT quite as long as you have, but I can vouch for what you said about Pukon fans. They are apoplectic about wondering where their team will end up.

And I am loving every minute of it! ;-)
