In Season Tidbits

We are pleased to announce that The Peter J. Tobin College of Business has jumped 27 places to be ranked 50th of all undergraduate business programs in the U.S. by Poets&Quants. We owe our progess to our talented faculty and students.[/quote]

As a recent Tobin Alum this is great to see. I just missed out on Dean Sharpe and all the vast infrastructure upgrades at Bent Hall.

Great to hear, My son just completed his first semester in the Tobin School of Business with a 4.0! Very proud father!:)

Wilson did not get off bench today in 26 point win over New Hampshire;

Dan Hurley on Sid Wilson: “It’s hard to play 10 guys. ... We’re going to need Sid. ... He’s got to work harder.”

Karma :) Iona get ready

yeah, wonder what his Dad has to say.

I got a question for the stat guys on here.... How many (if there are any other) teams have 2 top 20 NET wins on their resume right now. St. John's has West Virginia (10 NET) and Arizona (19 NET). That should be enough this early in the season for most bracketlogist to put them in their projected field.

Per Kyle Cuffe Sr

Come check out @CoachMantegna and his @BlairBasketball team lead by j Blakes @kylecuffejr @akoldah @jabri404 @MichaelOC_12 @kolajal as they face a tuff @OSLBasketball lead by St. John’s commits @PoshAlexander @WusuDylan Game starts at 2pm at Barclays in BK. Be there.

Per Octagon Basketball Europe

A season-high 36 points from @DeeHarrison21 (8/10 2pts, 4/10 3pts, plus 3 rebounds and 3 steals for ranking of 33) was not enough to save Le Portel on the road against Chalon Reims in the French @LNBofficiel #octagon

Interesting watching this HS game from Barclay's. First, Wilcher looks like a good get for Xavier. Second, a graphic on Kuminga said his 4 top schools were Puke, Kentucy, LSU and St. John's.

Sean Evans doing right thing;

“ Sean Evans held his 2nd annual #FoeFoundation Christmas event in Lemnos, Greece. Over 20 local children were invited to have hot chocolate w/ Sean, receive gifts,&take photos. Each child received a #foe bag filled w/ Christmas themed school supplies, candies, games,& Santa hats.”

A very nice past week for SJU.
Tobin School of Business jumps 27 spots in the rankings.
Our men’s bball team which was expected to finish 9th or dead last in the BE has a huge win on the road against number 16 Arizona, is 11-2 and is starting to get votes.
And now this great ranking in the NACDA , thanks for the continued good news Paultzman.

Outside of St. John's I haven't followed college basketball that closely so far this season. I was looking through conference standings and noticed that Iona has only played six games. Most teams in the MAAC were on the lower side. Pretty much every conference was between 10 and 14. Anyone know why?

Probably because not many of their teams get invited to exempt tournaments that allow you to play 3-4 extra games as part of your non conference schedule.
