Humboldt State game

Kinda felt sorry for those Humbolt guys. They really should not have been on the court with this team.
If i'm the Humbolt St AD, I dont schedule a team like St. johns again. Next years scrimmage i go with a Seton Hall or Depaul.

They only lost by 20 to Cal

To add, it was reported that they were missing like six players (three starters?) due to injury. It'd be interesting to know how many guys didn't play in this game that played against Cal. The team we faced last night should not have been within 40 points of any high major.

I was at the game so not able to hear that. Thank you. As Marillac said I'd like to see who played vs Cal.

Nothing was mentioned about injuries in the Cal game. It sounded like these were long term injuries suffered in the past. Maybe St John's played better than Cal. That does not sound crazy to me.

Can't find the boxscore of the Cal game, but this is from the recap of that game posted on the Humboldt athletic web site. Definatly had the injuries for both games (and in all likelyhood, it's gonna be a long season for the Lumberjacks):

Humboldt State came into its first action against a collegiate opponent with almost a completely refurbished squad after injuries ended the season before it started for top returners Austin Bryan, Rocky Brown and Ethan Dillard. Another familiar face from the 2012-13 season – Brett McConnell – was also missing as he recovers from an injury suffered during the first week of practice.

So all the same

Imagine losing three starters to injury for the season before the season even began? And I believe on the telecast (sorry, did not look at the links provided above) besides those three, three others were out with injury.

I realize he is a jackass but who really cares, maybe Lucas asked him to come to the game with him to watch Harrison play.

Not far from the truth, actually DLo invited Lucas because he's been to his camp twice. He also invited Rice who was at the same session with him.

There you go, I didnt think it was odd for either of them to be there like other posters were suggesting.

So... the exact same guys who played Cal played us last night and lost by a lot more. Glad we can put that to bed.

Why is it such a big deal that Mike Rice was at the game, who cares and who cares why he was there?
Interesting...he was sitting with John Lucas...maybe he is taking anger management therapy like Dlo

He was. They were in the same class this summer

It helps a D2 team to recruit when they can tell a kid that they are playing a few games vs. big name competition
