HOLY CROSS, Sat., Nov. 25, 7p, FS-2

when wusu saw that SJU was 1 for 8 from the 3 point line, he called the school and volunteered to be the 3 point shooting coach.

Considering that they were down 18-10 at one point, being up 16 seems like a good spot to be at halftime. Johnnies have been bad coming out of halves so far. Hopefully in this first 5 minutes we put the game out of reach rather than let Holy Cross feel like they’re still in a real fight.

Also seeing the potential of having Luis in this lineup. Happy to have another guy at that offensive level.

44-28 at the half.
Soriano - 12pts, 6-7 fg-a
Ledlum - 8pts
Luis - 6pts
Jenkins - 4ast
Obviously the competition is weak tonight, but we seem to be developing a great amount of depth. Front court depth remains a concern, but Soriano has demonstrated a terrific ability to play significant minutes while staying out of foul trouble. If we can get 10 good minutes a game out of Zuby and play effective small ball for a few, I think we’ll be ok.

I think our defense will improve dramatically throughout the year and I’m confident we’ll cut down on the turnovers. I’d like to see us develop an alpha scorer to compliment Soriano. I don’t love Jenkins for the role although he is one of our better creators. Maybe Luis will be that guy.

RJ Luis really gives Pitino the opportunity to tighten that bench. Whoever doesn’t start between Luis and Taylor is probably the 6th or 7th man with Alleyne. Keep Wilcher in the mix to develop him and Zuby needs some mins to stay ready for when Soriano gets in foul trouble. I’d also give Dunlap minutes whenever it makes sense but if these guys are in shape they can really give the majority of mins to 7 solid guys.

Just got home....first thing I see is a sweet drive by Luis, who has 12 points... Noice. Lots of time for the second stringers already. Doubly noice. And already well above the spread to boot.

I feel like I missed a well oiled offensive machine
