Uh oh, the dreaded day to day routine. Hope he plays Tuesday night we need him and a win.

New SJU physician, Dr Jack Kevorkian Jr., on the case, no worry. :)

Didn't he get some experience with the Mets?

If he's our for any extended period of time it's game, set, match. I said before the season I could see us missing the tourney, making the NIT and then half the board will be saying Mullin deserves an extension because not making the tourney was due to injuries, not his fault. Totally disagree...it's on the staff for having no bench. Honestly, even if Mullin does lead us to the tourney, let's be real...he's clearly not the answer long-term. The team plays clueless and you can clearly see there is no real plan. Feel terrible for Ponds who very possibly will leave SJ without ever experiencing a game in the NCAA Tourney. What a waste of such a special talent. If we can't win consistently with Heron, Ponds, Clark, LJ, we will never be consistent under Mullin. I don't care if he has 5 star kids.

Dude, I literally don't think there is anyone satisfied with the current record or even believes Mullin deserves an extension aside from 1 or 2 people. C'mon.

He banged knees? Kurt Angle won a gold medal with a broken freakin neck. Someone show our guys a tape of Willis Reed entering the court in game 7, dragging his 260 pound busted ass body around on a torn thigh muscle after an 82 game season and a bunch of playoff games. I'm sure Heron is not dogging it. He is not Lovett. But we need him badly.
When did he get hurt ?He looked fine when he defended Howard at the last shot of the game.
He went down really hard toward the end of the Marquette game. He was probably just going on adrenaline for the last couple minutes.

Plus bruises tend to swell overnight and pain worsens afterwards

A very calm and reasoned assessment.

Let’s hope Mustapha is good to go, Tuesday, but one would think a bruised knee takes longer than a week to be cleared for 40 minutes of high-level college hoops.
Still think we should’ve beaten Providence yesterday without Mustapha.
Played listless and clueless.
No excuses.

I don't think Mullin will get an extension nor does he have any desire for an extension. I think Cragg and others are already working on a succession plan. Even if that plan is after next season.
Based on the six questionable recruits without an immediate impact player, my guess is, like Heron, this staff will be " day-to-day" for the remainder of their tenure since most of "their players" are transient types and not recruited for 4 year long term development.

I was more worried that it was his back. That was a nasty fall to the ground at the end of the Marquette game.

Hopefully he is back for Butler

Do you play him with some residual pain, and risk him at less than perfect for Nova, or rest him and wait for Nova? My guess he plays as long as he is not risking further injury. Since we are 0 and 2 without one of the starters, and we had little chance from the 10 minute mark on, then a loss to Butler may be too likely without him.

Mustapha Heron has dealt with tendinitis in his right knee — same knee that kept him out on Saturday, I’m told. #sjubb

We’ll see if he practices tomorrow, but expectation as of now is Mustapha Heron will likely be available on Tuesday for St Johns, as @AdamZagoria is reporting

Bruise? Now tendinitis? Hopefully he hasn't had knee replacement surgery by Tuesday night.

Not only is it always something around here, it always seems to be something mysterious.

With a little bit of luck, maybe Mustapha will turn into The Six-Million $$$$$$ Man!
Lol.
