Harrison

Didn't Mullin clank a few free throws in a tournament game against Georgia that sent us packing?

Didn't Jackson's team, a one seed, get bounced in the second round? It was against an Auburn team with some future NBA players, but still we were the favorite.

3'Lo's been banged up for weeks, and it's not like everyone else was killing it the last 2 games.

Can't kill him. You could see he hurting.

Not buying the injury excuse. If you are so hurt that it affects your shot why is he always shooting so much? When he has a good game everyone says he looks and must be healthy, bad game he looks hurt, from one game to the next.

Sorry just not a money player. Nice kid came a long way but not in the class of Jackson or mullen.

So just like that, he goes from one of the 12 best of St. John's to "not a money player". As someone who was slow to see Harrison as a "great", I have to say this goes to show the schizoid nature of this board. Harrison was always a kid who played off his emotions, and clearly in this game, he lost confidence in his ability. Contrast his play with the "money" players you mention (not so much Jackson) but others who were omitted in the 12 greatest discussion, and you see the difference in the way Coach Lavin recruits for length and athleticism over skill and basketball IQ.

I was just texting my buddy in NYC this same thing. Sorry, I like D'Lo he's a nice player and a good kid. He's not the guy that puts a team on his back. It just seems like he disappears in big games.

Ya know when i was attending school it used to be that we would lose games but we would never get blown out. Now it seems all too common for this team. For a guy who was there during fun times in the late 80' and early 90's this is just tough to watch.

100% true statement

Harrison won games at Cincinnati as a freshman and sophomore with last second shots. Last year, his late 3's beat Creighton at MSG and beat Marquette on the road. Before being injured this year, he was playing great, winning Big East Player of Week twice and being named to the weekly all Big East team several times. Cut him some slack and give him a little time to rest and recover.

Harrison is not the problem and he is definitely hurt.

If you doubt this, watch a game you DVR'd from early this season. He is currently a shell of himself right now.

I still have much respect for DLO.

I believe Chris missed the front end of a one and one in an early round NCAA game against Temple. Terence Stansbury then hit a long jumper at the buzzer to beat us. As for Dlo, he has bailed us out many a game. This thread is nonsense.

I, too, believe he's still playing injured. He'll show glimpses of his old self, but it's usually not sustainable. He doesn't look like the same guy from earlier in the season when he was carving teams up on a daily basis.

It's March and no one is 100% healthy.

Fact is, he didn't show up.

When he was playing well early in the season, he was making much better decisions. He played under control.

Since the injury, he's been playing like he did as a Soph and forcing shots.

He hasn't stepped up in our biggest games.

Whoa.....I finally agree with Dinkins on something. Stop the presses! :)

Whatever happened to the old excuses: too many tattoos, cares too much about his mohawk, bad attitude.

Leave the kid alone. We'd be NOWHERE, I repeat, NOWHERE, without him. He's a great representation of the university and a great example of someone who's overcome personal issues to be a role model. If some can't appreciate what he's done for this program and the memories he's left and big shots he's hit, that's your loss.

Tough to crap on D-Lo...He has made so many big shots...

It wasn't just him...the whole team (outside of Jordan) were terrible...they were just lost on offense, had clue how to break Providence down and just resorted to playing on the perimeter...

IMO D-Lo's most egregious error occured when he stole the ball near 1/2 court when we were establishing momentum, had a clear lane to the rim and elected to take a "gunslinger's" long 3 pointer...at that point, I think we missed the only chance we had to make a comeback...

It was a shame, because Providence is not nearly as good as we made them look today (and their fans are obnoxious drunks)

Who cares if he's a great representation of the university? So is Felipe.

That has nothing to do with this game.

He played poorly. Should no one say anything about it?

Agree.... Providence only played alright, IMO. But we played like horse manure.
