Greg is a tireless worker. He lives close to campus so he can always be around. After practice, he often heads to CMs house, where they plan and talk SJU basketball late into the night.

In a perfect world, this season begins a string on ncaa appearances, and when it comes times for Chris to retire, we have our head coach for the next 25 years right under our noses.

When asked, Greg says that since he didn't attend a D1 school he has no rooting interest elsewhere and SJU has become his home.

Lots of projecting on my part, but I believe he is that good, and a great person also.

St Jean has that BB pedigree from his Dad , a well respected former Coach and Executive . Greg has earned peer esteem on his own merits and we are fortunate to have him . He is a Asset to our Program and has the youth to be a valued contributor for many Years . Here at St John’s or wherever his path leads .

I'd sign up for that.

Keep Matt right along with him

Greg needs to continue to get a lot of experience on the recruiting end, approach, style, etc.

Even more compelling Greg St. Jean’s name literally translates to Greg St. John’s...lol

Has the best personality of any coach on the staff and likely the brightest.

We need to hope he's a better coach than his dad. Great guy, but not a great coach.

Nothing against the guy but i'd rather hire someone else. I know the article gave you guys the warm fuzzies inside but can we let him land a recruit before we talk about being our coach for the next 25 years.

Whoa.......slow down, everyone.

Next time we have an opening at head coach, I hope there is a very thorough and thoughtful process. I have no problem with St. Jean being a candidate, but let's not hand him the job just yet.

I'm still hoping Chris is here for another 5 years and I never think that far ahead anymore - too depressing.

Some fans meet Greg, like him & anoint him in same week. Lol! May be a nice guy with an upside, but come on. Let him get some experience.

Beast mentioned after a string of NCAA appearances and after Chris retires.

I don't think anyone is saying in next 1-3 years. But we had a solid streak and St. Jean was a big part of it, then it merits consideration.

Anyone but Mitch....

Let’s get there first.

GSJ seems like a great, young, smart, very hard-working coach-in-the-making, still building his college resume.
Let’s root for a string of great seasons for St. John’s, with GSJ an avid under-study, getting his legs under him, as he learns the nitty-gritty and ‘spin’ of recruiting.

But he looks so comfortable holding a clipboard. :)

Some fans know him for a couple of years, keep in touch with him, and don't repeat everything they chat about. Others talk to reporters and think they are our club reporters by repeating things leaked to them. :)
