Told the visits with transfers Justin Simon and Marvin Clark Jr. went very well. Commitments could be coming in next few days. #sjubb

On to Livingston end of month.

Livingston is an important "get" IMO
One glaring need on next year's roster is a big, physical "lunch pail" kind of guy
Like Charles Oakley was for the Knicks
He could immediately be a difference maker for us next year

Were going to be deep. Nice to be in a position that we don't have to get an ulcer when one of our starters twists an ankle. There was no excuse for the lack of bench Lavins last year. We had to play DLO when he should have been recovering and had to put up w COs sh-t.

Not to mention "The Jordan Chronicles". Mullin and co. need to win obviously but they are building a legit roster.

I trust that our staff will reel him in as well very soon

It is looking very good.

Thank you Paultzman for the triple dose of great/encouraging news.
Would prefer to have more than 1 ship for 2017 but I believe that will work itself out too. It always seems to. Who knows if Williams will be able to play and typically players leave.
In the interim we have a deep and talented roster and staff can really concentrate on the classes of 2018 and 2019. Practices will be very competitive and spirited. All huge positives for a program trying to reinvent itself.

So this means we have 1 open scholarship for '17 (with or without Livingston). Does that mean we won't be offering Kostas a scholarship?

I think we would end up having 2-3 open spots for '17 class with possibility of kids transferring out. I would be fine with that, considering the quality of kids we are recruiting.

I'll gladly take the one ship for 17 and use it on Tucker. Our front and back court should be greatly balanced by the time the 2017-18 season rolls by. Would love to add a great wing like Tucker to provide some depth behind Ahmed and Freudenburg.

Livingston would be the 3rd and final ship giving for 16, so we'd have no ships 16. I think Kostas is the backup plan.

If Livingston comes he'll only play one year, so that's 1 ship for next year. If Williams can't play next year then maybe he'll leave. If Mussina don't improve from last year, then he might leave.
If he don't improve defensively, and in other areas then he'll be one of the vlast off the bench by February.
Got to show improvement from your first year to your second year, especially late 2nd year.

That would be 3 ships for 17.

If staff wants and can get both Livingston and Greek there will be room.

SJU will have a roster of ten players next year in their first, second or third year with an eligible transfer most likely. Playing time will not be a pleasant experience for some.
In addition they will be practicing with two players who we can probably count on to play meaningful minutes the next year and one recruit who will be in the same situation which means minutes will be even harder to come by the 17-18 season.
IMO there will be at least two transfers this time next year if not by Dec.

I realize Clark and Simon (if in fact we get them) cannot suit up for a year. However, does anyone know if they can practice with the team?
