Georgetown game

Huge game. Could bring us to a game over 500.
If we beat them, would we get in the voters section of the polls?

I would think we gotta be pretty close.

I plan on being there. Don't want to say I WILL be there. Said that for the Creighton game and then got sick Sunday morning. But barring any last minute flu-like symptoms, I will be there! ;)

You know Georgetown will have its usually high turnout of fans.

Seth Davis likes the Johnnies;

"Georgetown (15-9) at St. John's (16-9)
Sunday, 7 p.m., FS1

These two teams could do no right early this season, and now they can do no wrong. Georgetown broke a five-game losing streak by upsetting Michigan State at Madison Square Garden, and now the Hoyas have extended their win streak to four. St. John's lost its first five league games and has now won six of its last seven Big East games. The Red Storm now have four of their last six games at home, which bodes well for their chances -- amazingly -- to get into the NCAA Tournament.

Getting Trawick back has been huge for GTown and that freshman Cameron has been big boost for them too. Rivera destroyed us in the 1st game then went into a slump which he is now coming out of. Our advantage should be on the inside. Maybe this is a game Sanchez breaks out

Rivera had a career game against us last time and was unconscious. Cannot expect the same form him, unless we let him spot up all night.

This is really the last game that scares me. I feel very confident about Xavier, DePaul, and Butler at MSG. The Nova game could just be playing with the house's money if they win the others, and the reward there is huge. I think we match up well with Marquette, but I do hope they catch a couple of losses and have nothing to play for.

I'm very glad that Smith isn't playing. This is a big, big game. A loss here hurts more than just about any other because Gtown would be then be comfortably well ahead of us come Selection Sunday. I don't feel great about it. A win Sunday and I think we find ourselves inside almost every major bracket prediction.

To me, this is almost a must win to get into the NCAA's
Both of us are probably "on the fence"
If we lose to them again and end up with similar league records, we will likely be doomed
Sunday is payback day ..... gotta keep the win streak going
LET'S GO JOHNNIES!!!

I'm feeling okay about our chances on Sunday. Josh Smith is such a huge problem, no pun intended, that I don't think we can beat them at this moment with Smith in the lineup. Lubick always seems to do really well against us. On the interior he's cut out of the mold of McDermott, always moving, and finding a way to get off a high percentage shot down low. He's also very physical for a forward, and bangs with the best of them. He's only averaging 5 pts per game, but plays really well against us. I'd be watching him closely.

A win would also be huge because I can see a #4 VS #5 matchup in the big east tournament between us and Georgetown.

So if we win this game, the possible game in the tournament would be a rubber match with much NCAA implications on the line.

Not confident about this game, this group of kids have never even played Georgetown close. We've been blown out every time, i hope it doesn't happen this time. And I don't think it will.

Sunday will be different. I'm feeling better about this game than about SHU away. Our guys know that this was our worst loss of the year, and they will be ready. No excuses. Way too early to lose one with 6 to go. Another tourney game for us as far as I'm concerned. Do or die. I say they DO

Two points resonated with me:
"The book on St. John's the last three years has been pretty simple. Pack in the defense, encourage the Red Storm's self-destructive proclivity for long two-pointers, wash, rise, repeat."

"Harrison's poor shooting percentages turn downright abysmal against Georgetown.... he's made just 1 of his last 25 field-goal attempts against the Hoyas and has missed 18 consecutive three-point attempts versus Georgetown."

We have to find a way to get more points in the paint this time around. Jordan should be helpful in this regard--he's come a long way since the last meeting.

ouch. The law of averages is in our favor

@hoyablue: We have sold out all tickets to the St. John's game this Sunday. We're pumped for the road trip and can't wait to keep the win streak going!
