Getting Trawick back has been huge for GTown and that freshman Cameron has been big boost for them too. Rivera destroyed us in the 1st game then went into a slump which he is now coming out of. Our advantage should be on the inside. Maybe this is a game Sanchez breaks out
This is really the last game that scares me. I feel very confident about Xavier, DePaul, and Butler at MSG. The Nova game could just be playing with the house's money if they win the others, and the reward there is huge. I think we match up well with Marquette, but I do hope they catch a couple of losses and have nothing to play for.
I'm very glad that Smith isn't playing. This is a big, big game. A loss here hurts more than just about any other because Gtown would be then be comfortably well ahead of us come Selection Sunday. I don't feel great about it. A win Sunday and I think we find ourselves inside almost every major bracket prediction.
A win would also be huge because I can see a #4 VS #5 matchup in the big east tournament between us and Georgetown.
So if we win this game, the possible game in the tournament would be a rubber match with much NCAA implications on the line.
Not confident about this game, this group of kids have never even played Georgetown close. We've been blown out every time, i hope it doesn't happen this time. And I don't think it will.
Two points resonated with me:
"The book on St. John's the last three years has been pretty simple. Pack in the defense, encourage the Red Storm's self-destructive proclivity for long two-pointers, wash, rise, repeat."
"Harrison's poor shooting percentages turn downright abysmal against Georgetown.... he's made just 1 of his last 25 field-goal attempts against the Hoyas and has missed 18 consecutive three-point attempts versus Georgetown."
We have to find a way to get more points in the paint this time around. Jordan should be helpful in this regard--he's come a long way since the last meeting.
