Georgetown- Game 2

Adam Zagoria @AdamZagoria .
Make that 24, 7 and 2 for Dom Pointer as St. John's ices an NCAA bid with a convincing 81-70 win over Georgetown.

D'lo is going to score 1 point and we're going to win by double digits! That parlay could have won you a ton in Vegas.

Congratulations guys!

Big win today, you would have to say that we are squarely in the tournament right now. Never thought that was possible a few weeks ago. Glad I was wrong,

Crow is now being serve red for the doughters.

Let's not get crazy. Not too many people would be surprised if they dropped the next three and fell right off the bubble either. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Not so, most people would be very surprised, even here.

The potential severity of Branch's injury dims a bit what is otherwise a wonderful day for these players and staff. Greene was an absolutely dagger to each Georgetown run, Branch exposed them off the dribble with his most aggressive game of the year. Sir'Dom continues to show you what exceptional talent can do when you play selfless team basketball, which is fundamentally change the culture of the squad while raising your own profile. I loved everything about this game. It was chippy, the players and coaches don't pretend to like each other, and we whipped them, giving everyone a template for playing the Hoyas in the next few weeks. As if we needed to remind ourselves with how wonderful St. John's vs Georgetown, and the Big East, can be. I'd be surprised in any recruit there doesn't leave with a great impression of our program. Finally, Coach and his staff crushed it today, they sped up the game, turned Smith into a none factor, and kept the team focused in a physical and hostile contest. I hate Marquette sitting like a trap between this game and Villanova but at least I'm convinced this team is dancing in a few weeks.

What a win! Who was sitting in section 108 row 7... Saw you on Redmen.com while I was at halftime but was too anxious to say anything haha

Also Phil Greene and Dom deserve all the credit in the world for today's W. Great atmosphere too

haters still gonna hate.

I just don't get going with Felix at all. But if you think he's that good, why leave him i with three fouls? Bizarre decision when we needed rebounding.
Thankful for the terrific play by Branch most of the half and the energy surge from Pointer that got us going again.

I can not understand why Balamou plays at all. Believe it or not but I rather have Joey D, a big body against Hopkins. Yet to see Balamou make a putback.
