The potential severity of Branch's injury dims a bit what is otherwise a wonderful day for these players and staff. Greene was an absolutely dagger to each Georgetown run, Branch exposed them off the dribble with his most aggressive game of the year. Sir'Dom continues to show you what exceptional talent can do when you play selfless team basketball, which is fundamentally change the culture of the squad while raising your own profile. I loved everything about this game. It was chippy, the players and coaches don't pretend to like each other, and we whipped them, giving everyone a template for playing the Hoyas in the next few weeks. As if we needed to remind ourselves with how wonderful St. John's vs Georgetown, and the Big East, can be. I'd be surprised in any recruit there doesn't leave with a great impression of our program. Finally, Coach and his staff crushed it today, they sped up the game, turned Smith into a none factor, and kept the team focused in a physical and hostile contest. I hate Marquette sitting like a trap between this game and Villanova but at least I'm convinced this team is dancing in a few weeks.
