Our offense has absolutely no flow to it tonight. Neither Wusu or Mathis are on, would rather see more of Smith & Coburn.
It's mind boggling to me that they are on the court together. X isn't guarding either one of them beyond 15 feet. Wusu tried to drive but ran right into Mathis' man who was parked at the FT line because he had no need to hug Mathis out to the 3 point line

You could say this about Mathis paired with anybody, nothing to do with playing next to wusu.
Or vice versa

You think teams guard Wusu the same way they guard Mathis?

Second half I want to see a lot of Champ, Posh, Soriano, Wheeler & Coburn. Go with the guys playing well.

I guess, but both guys could provide value in spurts if they were surrounded by shooters. Either paired up against the opponent's best offensive guard/wing and can get to the rim on offense. Together they are just redundant and destroy spacing

I agree with you completely about Mathis but I think it’s him and posh much more. I just dont see why wusu, who’s shooting 36% from deep would hurt our spacing. Posh and Mathis play close to 55 minutes combined and neither guy has to be guarded within 10 feet if they don’t have the ball. If anything wusu keeps help defenders honest with his ability to pass.

Xavier fans must think Coburn is having a hell of a season.

Tough first half to watch!!!!

Passing -below average
Defense -average
Defense rebounding very bad
Offense -Weak
Court Spacing - Terrible

WE ARE WINNING BECAUSE X CAN NOT MAKE A  SHOT!!!!

WE NEED TO PLAY BETTER IN THE 2ND HALF.

COME ON BOYS.

More Coburn and Wheeler less Mathis and Nywe

SJ has slight rebounding edge but X has 9 offensive ones.

Thought Xavier had better looks than SJ but shot poorly. Law of averages and second opportunities if O rebounding edge remains worries me.

Despite Wusu's fair shooting numbers from deep, teams don't respect his jumper. They'll let him shoot it all day. Agree Wusu brings some passing that Mathis doesn't, but Mathis is better at finishing at the rim. I also agree neither are ideal complements for Posh due to his shooting inability as well.

Lol what’s that make 95% of players in the BE?

He’s a sloppy passer with great vision.

Posh’s shooting this year is an enigma to me.  He didn’t shoot well last year but he had several games where he hit multiple threes.  Not coincidentally, I think it was during the streak we were playing our best basketball.  Other than the first game of the year this year, Posh has really struggled from outside and lately he’s not even been close on most of his attempts.  Before his injury, he was starting to flash a nice mid-range game but I haven’t seen much of that lately.  Nearly all his points are garbage/second chance hustle plays.  I also don’t see him dominating on the defensive end as much although I think his steals numbers are not down significantly from last year.  Nonetheless, he doesn’t seem as dominant defensively to me.  He’s clearly rebounding better and his assists are up.  I haven’t looked at the numbers but I think he’s cut down on his turnovers from earlier in the year.

Would love to see Posh hit a few outside shots to keep the D honest.  Would open up a lot of scoring opportunities

Posh needs to learn how to shoot. He throws the ball at the basket. Very few soft or in and out shots. No extension and limited snapping of the wrist.

Nice ball movement.  Homage to FF.  /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

Coburn draining 3's adds a whole lot to the offense.

And probably responsible for Soriano getting the post score.

Coburn and Smith need to get Mathis and Wusu minutes. Wusu and Mathis should never be on the floor together. Soriano showing that we missed him when he was out.
