Marquette up 9 now. We're just not as good as most of the teams in this league, bottom line.

Our D ok but M'Q still going to put 40 on board at half. Good firepower. Lewis & Garcia two solid freshmen

We are competing well.  Defense is better. Moore needs a tutorial in boxing out.  Just too many bad decisions on offense - unnecessary shots, turnovers that didn't need to happen.

The two problems this team has had all year are bad D and bad decision-making.  Seems like one got mostly fixed, anyway.  Now gotta fix the other. A few better decisions and the game could have been even at the half. Still time to change it in the second half but foul trouble may come back to bite us.

This game all about missed shots so far. Hustle is there and but they are hitting theirs and we arent

Theo John is so old he's eligible for the covid vaccine at halftime
You piqued my curiosity. He's only 22 but damn, he looks a lot older!

It seems like he's been there since I've been in school. Pretty sure he is close to qualifying for a pension

You're thinking of Elton John.

Should start zoning Marquette quite a bit the second half.  The end of half shit was brutal.  We aren't finishing well, but competing well.  Still in this but up more than I like.

That last shot was a backbreaker!! Down 11 , doubt we come back. Not enough interior defense Marquette beating us 20-8 points in the paint and not enough offensive ability on our end.

And the other thing is that we don't have enough structure in the half court offense to create good looks, especially against the zone.  However I think that is a fundamental flaw in the Anderson approach and isn't likely to get fixed (other than by individual effort).

I have a feeling this will be one of those games where we'll create a dent in their lead, but we'll be "chasing" throughout the game.

Is there no one in the Fox studio today?

There's a half of basketball left to play.  Let's see if Champ can take cjarge
on the offensive end.

Was wondering the same

Dunn dribbles around the perimeter doing little but eating clock.  Drive or give it up.

Another half that CMA did use a timeout.  I guess he doesn't want to break our momentum.

That is not surprising. Our guys are tryinng, but we lack scorers and shooters.  Still, this game should have been closer.  Missed free throws and the usual missed shots near the basket.  Marquette is a well balanced tream. A mix of shooters and scorers and bangers. CMA still working on getting us there.

Game probably depends on Champagnie doing a complete 180 and the defense tightening up. They're shooting 50% from the field, we're shooting about 30% from the field and we're down 11 at halftime. Can't say that it doesn't make sense.
