Love that this team always punches back was 27-27 with 4 mins left after their run to catch up. We outscored them 13-4 in the last 4 mins of the half. Didn't lie down.

Heron having to sit with the 2 foul may have been a blessing in disguise. He looked bad and the extended time on the bench can hopefully give him a bit of a reset. Let's get him an easy bucket or back to the line to start the 2nd half.

To have 9 pt lead at the half considering Heron and Roberts were in foul trouble is very good. I think we can play better in second half. Need a nice second half out Heron and keep up the tough D and we will take this home.

I am on your side with this and was blaming a lot of their surge on the fact we had LJ and Heron both on the bench. With that said if we blame some of that on resting our guys I think we also have to give some credit to the fact we looked like the fresher team the last 5 minutes of the half. Couple sides to
It but think we could get benefit of rest while keeping at least one of those two on the court at all times. Overall great half!

That was good basketball. Love Heron and how he competes every possession.. Needs to be able to score when he is near the basket. Rarely finishes in the half court driving to the rim or post up. Never makes a traditional and 1.

Can't get over just how steady Champagnie is, especially for an unheralded frosh. Never seems to get rattled or too excited. So lucky to have him.

I wasn’t counting, but it felt like at least half dozen
All the complaints about our substitutions and yet they’re working amazingly well and we are up at the half! I’ll take it... our bench has been getting good production.
Marcus you can't dispute that 1st half mass substitution had a negative effect. Sure being up 9 is great. Being up 15 would have been even better. He tried something. It didn't work. Don't do it again.

I think subbing in the first half, is going to be more or less a scripted thing. Fouls and/or injury would change things, and in today's case, playing back-to-back also comes into play. IMO, this style requires making sure that key guys get rest.

You can see how CMA's commitment to conditioning has paid off, in the early part of this season. In the 11 halves of basketball that we have played, we've probably come on strong at the finish in 7 or 8 them. That's what I think this style of play ultimately seeks to achieve. It's about staying close (at worst), and then wearing down your opponent at the end of the half (and end of the game).

2 fouls each on Heron, Earlington and Roberts.

Agree with the specific substitution criticism. The tide turned against us big time there. I like our supplementary bench guys for the most part but we're not deep enough to do hockey substitutions against the better teams will face.

Remy Martin has looked bad. Let's keep him out of rhythm. He can get hot quick. Streaky.

I noticed the same. As much as I've liked what Earlington has done in this early season, he seems to always look to score. He gets tunnel vision once he starts going towards the basket.
I’ve noticed the same thing. That said he has good body control and uses the glass well. Need Heron to step up. Dunn , Roberts, Chamagne and Figgy playing well.

That just doesn't seem right. Even if they don't count the technical seems like he had a minimum of 3. So up until that stupid end of the half foul he only had 1?

Listening on IMG Radio - YouTube TV doesn't have espn-3 - I was able to sign-in and watch our exhibition game on espn-3 through RedStormSports.com website, but not today? Go Johnnies! Nice to have a 9 point lead at the half!
