Posh, even when he isn't scoring, like tonight is so much the pace setter for St John's, that his omission
makes a glaring difference in the interaction of our players.  He brings intensity on defense that is contagious and speed, along with Dunn, on offense that forces action.  Hopefully he and Champs don't pick up fouls early in the second half.

I expect Butler to go back to the initial success they had driving or passing the ball inside when our guards are forced to switch. The brief zone we played broke that momentum but they still were able to use the baseline fairly effectively.  If we can "win" the first five minutes of the second half and pull that lead back into the mid-teens, I will sleep better later tonight....because otherwise we could look at pressure cooker on the road.

Too often Posh defending their big man down low on a switch.

I know I'm beating a dead horse but this team truly has no idea at all how to defend the paint. We can't match up agaist a legit big because we don't have the personnel, ok fine I can live with that.  But there is just no understanding at all about how to play post defense, rotate, help, box out.   So now we are getting killed by interior passes backdoor cuts by a lummox, and offensive rebounds.

Fortunately Butler can't shoot at all (unless the Harris kid gets hot) and we make up for it in other areas of the game.  But it's really frustrating to watch.  No personnel is one thing, but no clue is another thing entirely.
Paint defense would improve tremendously if Josh Roberts stopped biting on pump fakes and defended more with his feet.

We are playimg.lazy defense and getting killed on the boards; recipe for disaster.

No offense but blaming Josh is a lazy take.  If you don't stop the ball and he has to rotate to stop the ball that the defenders didn't stop, it creates open layups behind him.  Post defense is not a one man job, it's a team job.  And how many minutes did Josh play in that half?
