Freudenberg

"Moritz, he averaged two points a game last year. He’s 19 years old. You got to watch this guy. D.J. averaged the same. There’s a process that people go through to develop their teams, and we had a lot of good seniors last year who graduated and a lot of guys waiting in the wings. It may have not showed in November, December. It’s showing in March."

Jim Beilein

Where does he coach?

Freudian slip! Fun loves Calhoun. I am just surprised he didn't call him Norm Beilein

Oh I see, I made a typo and when I make those you get a tiny little boner. Good point. It's John Beilein, sorry. Jim Boeheim, John Beilein, I'll work on that.

Did you have a substantive point to make? Of course not. You haven't made one of those since you maintained for several years that Christian Jones was better at basketball than [strike]Jabbar[/strike]Jakarr Sampson.

Wow, since when did you get so uptight. Was a joke.

I think RF is a skilled player. I don't think he looked overwhelmed or overmatched, but played so tentatively and tight that we didn't get a great picture of what he can do. HE did get outmuscled a lot and was not a factor underneath the boards. He handles the ball reasonably well at his height, didn't throw the ball away much, didn't look overwhelmed by pressure D. The rotation and form on his outside shot seemed fine, even if he found that he has less time to pull the trigger than he did playing in youth leagues in Europe.

He will fill out and get stronger, and gain more confidence. I think he can be a contributor at this level.

Wagner's development under Beilein and staff is a completely different universe than what is possible with RF here. No disrespect intended. Just sayin.

Would be shocked if this works out. I have been shocked before but usually the wrong way when it comes to ST John's. David Cain and Pointer off top of head were the only real pleasant shockers I can think of. And it took both of them 4 years.

Respect that. Certainly not a lock he is a contributor down the road, especially if his shot does not improve.

Don't think we brought him from overseas to possibly to be a project So far a bust hope it turns around

Not writing off RF by any stretch of the imagination, and granted the sample size is very small, but so far he has shown very little to indicate that he'll be successful at this level. As has been mentioned before, the game seems to be moving to fast for him. As for his shooting ability, which was supposed to be his strength, hasn't impressed. I'm less concerned with the results and much more concerned with the fact that he doesn't have very good form. He's supposed to be a stretch 4 but IMO he'd be more effective playing closer to the basket. Maybe he hits the weight room in the off season and comes back next year as the PF that we're sorely in need of.

Agree that little hitch he has is as worrisome as the lack of aggression, athleticism and lateral movement he showed. He does have nice hair.

I don't know how anyone can judge this guy with the very limited sporadic PT he got. He basically sat all season

Unfortunately some people are racist against Germans.

Passing final judgment is a whole lot different than making observation about his game, good or bad, even with limited playing time.

Mullin was a GM anyway we can trade RF and Mussini for Wagner and DiVincenzo? Make it like one of those WFAN trades that people call in with. We will throw in Amar, Ellison and a recruit to be named later.

I'd be willing to accept any deal for Mussini as long as it included an Italian(or Itlo-American) player upgrade. Besides DiVincenzo speaks like he's from Bensonhurst, , so he'd be a perfect fit here.

Some players need time to mature into college game. Frank Kaminsky averaged 8 minutes a game and 1.8 points a gams as a freshman. He averaged 10 minutes and 4 points as a soph. As a senior he averaged 19 points a game. We need these typs of players along with studs. This builds more cohesion as new players arrive, otherwise everyone wants to go pro or transfer after 1 year. We have seen enough of that.

You must be joking a bit. There is no way RF will play power forward at ny time during his stay here. At most he is a 3, and if he plays a 2 and can take advantage of his height against shorter guards, he can cause fits as a 2. If he is just going to hang on the perimeter than he may as well be 6'3 instead of 6'8 (Amar?). If he has any high value it will be as a 2 or 3 who can make outside shots regularly and occasionally be a height mismatch for a much shorter defender.

There is not a 2 guard in any country that he would be able to defend

He might be able to keep up with Giddy Potts in a foot race, but I suppose getting mowed over or shot over wouldn't be consider good defense.

I think Potts could beat up our whole team.... At the same time
