Former Johnnies Update

@dougdirt24: Great start by @Amir_Garrett this afternoon in Dayton. 6.1ip, 3h, 2er, 0bb, 10K. Stuff was outstanding.

Rowan Barrett's thirteen year old son is apparently quite a player;

Recent play in Canada;

@Tariq_NPH: Rowan Barret JR is a scoring machine. Very advanced. Understands angles, change of speed, smooth touch. Strong coordination. So young.

@Tariq_NPH: Rowan Barrett JR GAME HIGH 37 pts in championship game. I think it was a tournament high too.
Bring back Mahoney if it means getting this kid! :)

We should offer him a scholarship now.

"I’m starting to run out of things to say about the run that Amir Garrett is on. It’s been outstanding. It’s been awesome. Last night he threw another 5.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk to go along with six strikeouts. He has a 2.60 ERA over his last 17 starts, spanning 90 innings with 29 walks and 82 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting just .189/.259/.320 in that span. He has allowed more than two runs in a start just one since June 6th, and that start was just three runs allowed."

@dougdirt24: Cincinnati #Reds Prospect Watch: Another Amir Garrett start, more domination -http://t.co/b04vWlwQYJ | 12 players listed today

Wow that's fantastic. Real Happy for him. I'm always going to like that kid. Would love to root for him in baseball and see him make the big leagues

Smart move, Amir giving up basketball;

@Amir_Garrett: It's time to marry the game, and I said yeah I do. Baseball I'm all yours!!! CountOnAG #TheGrindReallyStartsNow #RoadToTheShow

I was just about to post "How long would it be before he decides to give up basketball and go full time with baseball", then I read your post.

With what he is doing right now in baseball, it is a smart move.

Not a former Johnnie, but former Johnnie commit Devontay Grace seems to have given up on basketball right after High School(Thomas Jefferson). Commited to us and then to Manhattan. Don't think he ever suited up for Jaspers, or for anyone else for that matter. Seems to be looking to become a rapper.

Former Johnnies Mase Jr and Geno playing for brownsville and winning the championship game at Gersh park in East NY this week. Geno played well.

Isn't that one of Norm's last big recruits that Lavin released immediately upon coming here?
