First of all, Obepka and Sampson have to be in the lineup together,especially if we are without Sanchez and G.G. Forget Obepka would rather come off the bench, he has to start. Can't afford to fall behind with our elite shooters.
Why in heavens name did Lavin not use Bourgault against their zone?
3 on 1 and Greene passes to a man standing next to him rather then Harrison who was ahead of the field on his right.
Right now these kids are not fun to watch, never expected to say that. But let's face it, Fordham was 1 and 7.
Hopefully, Branch and God's Gift will make a big difference.

Remember in Lavins first year here when we lost to Fordham and people were questioning him and the staff, bitching about the same things everyone's bitching about now, and pining for that entire pitiful team to just graduate? By February we were the toughest team to beat in the country, and by the end of the season that was everyone's favorite team they ever rooted for. I'm not saying this team doesn't have issues and I'm not saying this team will be ranked this year, but you people really need to relax and stop saying the season is over, we suck, we'll win 6 BE games, etc, 10 minutes into a game on December 8th. I understand this is a message board but contrary to apparent popular belief, this coaching staff knows what they're doing and have a way better idea than many of the annoying armchair GMs I see frequenting these game threads.
Some of you are making Canty out to be a HOFer (ie. beast, calling him a pro). Granted i have never seen him or heard about him until today but he isn't camby he is Canty. We made him look like Dave Cowens, by not putting a body on him and boxing out or leaving him open a few times. As soon as Chris O challenged him he either got blocked or missed. too soon to make definitive opinions about him until we see more.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there supposed to be a game today between the winners of the 2 games? I don't see anything about it whatsoever. Was this scrapped altogether? Just a 1 day thing now? Could have sworn we'd play back to back.
One day double-header now. Not a "tournament" anymore.
As far as the 3 on 1, Phil held the ball too long. He dribbled deep into the paint before making the pass. By that time the two offensive men were too close together and it allowed the defender to play the pass. He should have passed it before he he reached the free throw line. A real pg would have run that break better. Phil is still learning the position. Lavin spoke to him about it when play stopped.

I must say I was really impressed with the crowd last night. For a December game against a bad team it was very solid. This is my 5th year as a student and the student turnout last night was the 4th biggest I have ever seen for any game, Big East or not, at MSG behind only the 2011 UConn, Duke and Pitt games.
Unfortunately the game itself was brutal. Canty was killing us on the offensive glass all night and if Fordham had any sort of a 3-point threat they would have buried us, we left way too many guys open. Obekpa had a great game but I wish the other guys would stay and box out when he goes for the blocks. Too many times you see 3 guys going for a block then the shot is missed and they have a guy waiting wide open for a layup on the other side. And obviously we have to get better at free throw shooting, can't leave 13 points on the foul line. The refs last night were also a joke, thankfully it was in our favor most of the time.

- branch will help big time, we really have not had anyone like him in a long time !
- gods gift is needed, the guy is a warrior and willing to play the role of banger!
- Sampson is a 3 not a 4.... BE freshmen of the year!
- obekpa is a special kid!
- phil Greene is way to inconsistent.... He will thrive bring first guard off bench looking to score!
- Lav is really getting outcoached.... Our team looks under prepared night after night! Still think our team is made to play a straight 2-3, trapping all corners!
Just my 2 cents
