Fordham Game

With the attendance being 11090 I have to say the new look Holiday Festival with 4 local teams was a rousing success. Hopefully us and Fordham are a little better next year but If we brought in Iona and Hofstra instead of Stony Brook and Rutgers (although Stony Brook had a nice fan turnout) it would be an awesome few days of basketball if they switched back to the old format.

Didn't see the game so I cant really comment but as far a slowing the offense down I would think its a result of literally having no reserves. Hard to run for 40 minutes when you cant get a breather

True! I understand it from that standpoint. Really, I do. I think he goes to it too early and too often. I guess I'd like for him to pick his spots.

At one point in the first half, Pecora had all of his starters off the floor, and we hadn't subbed yet. I thought it was going to be part of their strategy to speed up the game and wear us down. We are now at the point that not only do we have to avoid foul trouble, but fatigue also. I think we are going to see more of the same until we have some reserves.

Reserves will start to come this week.

mentally tired? 18 and 19 year old kids playing a 40 minute game in msg get mentally tired? the fordham freshman didnt seem to get tired at the end. i bet when we play cuse and uconn they wont be mentally tired.

I'm talking in general not about yesterday's game.

We really lack the ability to dribble drive, the main reason we had so much success last year was hardys ability to create off the dribble! Once we drive and kick for open shots then and only then can we see our true ability to shoot the ball!!! Over all a lot better love Greene and pointer!

Speaking of dribble drive, did GG break the Festival record for dribbling the ball off his foot? ;)

I am sure otherts have said:

1. While I am not sure there were more Fordham fans at the game, thery asure were a lot more vocal.
2. I can't undferstand why the staff would not have played 1 or 2 of the walk-ons for 4 or 5 minutes apiece, espcially when we were up by 12 or so. If they were not going to play in that game, at that time, then when are they ever going to play. And, they will have to play since we are so depleted. I'm just surprised that they did not get their feet wet in this game as opposed to those that are coming up.

I love the fact that he still tries to drive even after his miscues. He has to be the first center in a long time to cleanly block shots -pure hustle beating their big man down court.

Can we beat Manhatten? They defeated the Rams by 34. Boy, do we lack shooters.

It's interesting...right now the kids can't shoot at all...and no one even gets streaky hot...hoepfully with coaching and confidence, some shooters will evolve.
