You’re not less of a fan for it either! Think of it this way either the johnnies win and you’re happy or the Johnnies lose and you win a little money as a consolation
As the finance guy here my words of wisdom are " always go for the money "

I am predicting a win and a huge game from Posh. Kid was disappointed in himself last game and has had to wait a long time for redemption. His pride carries him to 17 points, 6 assists, 4 steals, 1 block.

Ya heard it hear first.
From your lips to God's ears.

Greg, I would love to see the Chief attempt to throw the flaming spear at Center Court before the game. Of course, he might burn a hole in the hardwood and we wouldn’t have a game. 🥴
Bill, I'm thinking about going to the State rivalry game next year. It's always around Thanksgiving and it's a well attended Florida event. My Gators are doing well in the recruiting department so it may be a good game for them. Napier already has some of the top recruits in the country and he's still going for even more talent.

Guys, this is a team that is a well-coached, perennial NCAA team that has been decimated by injuries but recently lost to #1 Purdue by 10 and #3 to Virginia (on the road) by 5. Anyone who thinks this is, or should be, easy isn't paying attention. It is a must, but would also be a good win.
Yes it would be a decent win but due to the optics, Florida State’s current record and the way that teams are judged for Dance invites, a loss to FS would be a “bad” loss as well.

Greg, chomp, chomp! 🙂 More of a Notre Dame football 🏈☘️ fan myself. A few years ago my son was looking for colleges we visited the Florida campus. It was beautiful. My son ended up at Penn State. Hmm, State College Pennsylvania or Gainesville Florida!? I think I might have chosen differently but alas, at least according to my wife it was his choice. By the way he passed on a nice scholarship to good old St. John’s 😡🤬 My wallet will never forget it.

All that being said, we need to beat Florida State. They are struggling and our boys need to show up and get the road W. No letdowns.

Agree but if you bet with your wallet, the big (easy) money to be made was on taking Iowa State with the points. I maybe bet once or twice a year and that was too good to pass up as based on their play prior to the game, and their weak schedule, the Johnnies had little chance to cover that spread. My only concern in that game was if IS got too big a lead, they would let up (which they did) and almost not cover the spread.

Fortunately, that game was a wake up call and the team fared much better against DePaul and why I believe they will beat FS. But don’t think it’s a good game to place a wager on.

WOW... was expecting 5-7....

my thinking... i see 10.5... i immediately wanna jump on FSU... that's a good thing for St Johns... cause my gambling instinct is normally wrong! lol.

SJU by 15! (still putting $ on FSU to emotionally hedge)

Not sure where that 10.5 opener was but it's down to 6.5 now and think it might drop another half point or point lower

I would guess, and that's all this is, they have found out that Mathis will not play. That's usually the only thing to have a line jump four points, with nothing in between.

Mathis is not worth anywhere near 4 points to the spread. I think the site just pulled that opening number from one random offshore site that was just way off.

Tomorrow's game is one of those games where it feels like if we lose, the OOC schedule results will be a big miss and if we win can't complain about 11-1 (including Depaul game). If we lose, will need to go 13-7 in BE (or make BE final) imho to feel very comfortable about dancing.
