I haven't touched a newspaper since I got my first ipad. That is the reality facing print journalism. The unfortunate thing is that online journalism is pretty crappy. Two or three paragraphs, filled with grammatical errors, substitutes for real writing.

I stopped buying the print version of papers also however I read it them on my iPad.

Newsday got rid of a bunch of their top journalists and most enjoyable reads about ten years ago. I loved Ed Lowe, and enjoyed Steve Jacobsen (most of the time). So many of the online content at Newsday is now poorly written, filled with errors, and then corrected without notice as the day(s) go by. It's really a rag of a paper. Their reviewers would edit out any reader comments they didn't agree with as well.

Those of us old enough remember when the best way to get details of a west coast game was to wait until the Long Island Press came out, which was an afternoon newspaper. How things have changed.

Actually, I should amend my thank you. I don't want to see any journalist lose their job in a bloodletting. I never liked anything he wrote, but if they transfered him to the mailroom I'd be OK with that.
