(EXHIBITION) Towson, Sat., Oct. 26, 12 Noon, N/A

A few things. I don’t especially believe it mattered at all but I found the way Ticketmaster portrayed the situation confusing. I needed an extra early last week and the way the site showed tickets available I thought the game was headed to a sellout. Only by reading here did I understand much of the arena was not put on sale. Don’t think it hampered sales but I did find it confusing.

As to who was and wasn’t there it was an exhibition game. Funny to see more posts about who was and wasn’t there but of course most are coming from people who can’t comment on the game. Because it wasn’t on TV.

I see the irony, thanks.
Would anyone who WAS there care to comment on the GAME?

  • Essentially a split squad game.
  • I came away with positive feeling about our prospects.
  • Smith settled in and looked comfortable by end of game - although I think we have to avoid him having ball on perimeter with clock running down.
  • Glover is built like an upper classmen. I think once he gets comfortable, he could pass Dunlap in rotation if he doesn’t produce consistently.
  • I like Vince and Ruben. . .think they will develop and contribute as needed. Vince has good shooting form from FT line
  • While Zuby didn’t play as much as will come Monday, suffice it to say that our pick-and-roll defense will be much improved and hopefully we wont see Samson Johnson scoring on easy dunks.
  • Really like Scott…he is very poised.
  • Bottom Line…we’ll be good

I meant to post this same thought during the Rutgers game. The pick and roll D this year will be in another universe from last year.

Love Joel, but I spent a good amount of game time last year screaming at him through the TV to recover and find his man. Sadly, he never seemed to hear me and his man was usually wide open for an easy slam.

Love Joel as well and think his late season issues were due to knee problems…too much of a drop from early season strengths and I don’t think it was due to competition…his footwork suffered due to the injury..just my opinion.

With said, his pick and roll defense was never good…My brother laughs when he recalls me imploring Joel to find anyone even if it was one of our guys
