Europe Trip Details

I remember the madhouse at the Smithtown drive in as we all eventually stormed the gates of the sold out venue to watch the fight. Crazy times.
We may have bumped into each other as we walked right through the torn down fences. I used to go to Cooney's bar on Jericho turnpike and remember seeing him out on his own dance floor at 2am 2 weeks before the fight and voiced concern over his dedication to training. Also remember going to see the fight at the smithtown drive in with the intention of rooting for Cooney but the level of vile racial taunts directed at Holmes actually made me root for him.

Moose, it's just frustrating when you have the opportunity to see the kid play (I'm sure there would have been video clips to go along with summaries) as highly-touted as he is then have to wait another 3 months. If you are not at least a little bummed about this I am surprised. Obviously not the end of the world and sure let's make sure he's healthy for the real season, but still very disappointing that our 2 big gets won't play.

Obviously there's a bit of a difference between being a little bummed and getting your panties in a twist. That's what he's saying.

Believe it or not, when I post it's possible to step away from the microscope! As Beast of the East said before...this is guys talking sports. No need to exaggerate the "severity" of posts or how "bummed" someone is. Sheed is a potential program changer so excuse me if I want to see what he can do.

Who's our other big get who won't play?

Im disappointed too, but better now then the regular season.

Extremely disappointed Jordan isn't playing. One step forward, 2 steps back. After all the fanfare, and now we can't get our star recruit any burn. Same for Sanchez.

2 steps back from what exactly? He has a bad back. What do you want them to push him so he gets some burn in August?

Butler just lost a kid for the entire year playing an international exhibition in Australia. Let him rest.

It just seems every time we appear ready to go firing on all cylinders we stall out. By the way, are back spasms really grounds for not playing the ENTIRE trip? I can see a game or two, but the entire thing? I'm no physical therapist but is it really that bad?

The games mean NOTHING. Why risk it?

What it means is experience. What it means is, we don't get to see what this kid can really do against men, not boys anymore. Are you not very excited to see what he can do? Because I sure am.

I know you get excited when the wind blows but what in my post said anything about not being excited?

The game means nothing Joe. There is no way of getting around that. If the game meant something I'd think he'd play. But it's an exhibition game across the pond still 3 months prior to when the games count. Who cares what he does against men when he has to play boys all year.

A minor blip on the radar and your balloon flew out of your hands into the blue sky

I mildly disagree ,Moose..Why take such a trip if it didn't provide some benefit to the team/program?

Yes, the wins/losses are immaterial but, playing against professionals, just slightly below NBA caliber, does provide a important teaching/player improvement element.. Jordan is missing that and, he's got a lot of transitioning to do between HS and BE BB..

Yes, he's a high level talent but, still he will miss playing against stronger, tougher, more skilled players on this tour.

Sanchez and CO look much taller than JaKarr! Maybe 6'10 each? Photo experts? 'Moose? Bueller? Anyone? :)

But where is Gift?

He was taking a piss.

Aren't Moderators supposed to be moderate?

A typo.

Moderators are above reproach.

He meant pass.

Should have known this pillar of the site would never stray from moderation. :$

SInce this post is about pissing and not passing can we get back on topic and move this post to a new thread about pissing and keep this one about the Europe trip. :)

Not even the slightest bit funny. But that's par for the course.
Where is Rysheed too? Let's start the conspiracies now.

Isn't that kind of a harsh comeback? Aren't you guys friends?
Please direct all harsh comments to OhioFan, he truly deserves them. ;)
