Hooper is definitely not just a 3 pt gym rat...he clearly can hit during games with defenses in real time. So refreshing...we need that in the worst way this year.

Team won't win if Hooper can't drain some threes.

This is an absurd postulation. I believe national champion Louisville ranked quite poorly overall in 3pt percentage at the national level last year. None of this is relying on Hooper. We need excellent PG play, Harrison back to form, our sophs to improve and some inside game from Sampson, Sanchez, Obekpa and Gift.

I don't suppose we have some Euroball experts here who know whether there are some 6'11" amateurs lurking about in the general vicinity of these games?

My heart skipped a beat after seeing the word tragedy :furious:

At 1:29, tragedy... Hooper at the line and goes only 1-of-2. He hadn't missed anything this half. He has 31 for #SJUBB, up 74-35.

You weren't the only one!

Same! I was totally expecting the next words to be "Rysheed tears his foot off his leg in a chainsawing accident during a timeout" or something. It's the Jets/Mets/Knicks/Isles expect the worst mindset %-)

Then I would have reminded you that the game means nothing and he shouldn't have been playing :)

Is there a European version of the "Snoopy Trophy"?

Wow.. 10 for 13 shooting is MULLINESQUE...Great to see we may have our first real shooter since Bootsy Thornton. That's a long time ago..

Chris O looks a little stronger and from what little has been made available to read and see it seems as though C Jones has made a concerted effort to hit the boards harder this season. Oh and Hoop does look like he gets his shot off pretty quickly.

This year if you're a Yankee fan, you are also thinking someone got injured also.

Go to page 33 of this topic and click on the Redstorm video in M J dinkins post . check out the reaction of the guys on the bench to hooper as he gets hot !!!!!!

Didn't we all get giddy like this last year with Marco :p

Seriously though, I can hear the Garden chant now every time he nails a 3...Hooooooop

I don't think anyone ever got giddy over Marco. Many were just cautiously hopeful that he could fill a void. Based on minutes, it is clear that at this point Hooper is much preferred to a more seasoned Bourgault. I mean Max got 20 minutes to Marco's 2 in game one--a game that was played in Marco's country!

The players' comments also indicate that Hooper is the better shooter of the two. I'd expect him to have a bigger impact than Marco did last year. He seems to flourish off the quick-shot mentality, whereas Marco seemed like more of a smart shooter to me that wanted to pick his spots.

Hilarious. I hadn't watched the Day 8 vid yet, but went there after your post. Fun to see the guys so jacked up about Hooper's game.

Well they had never seen a teammate make an outside shot before! :)

Oh please, cry me a river. For the first time in 20 years the Yanks aren't some domineering force...what a shame to be still competing for a wildcard berth. Lol...sorry can't feel bad for Yankees fans you guys have no clue what adversity is. Especially considering Harvey is done for all of next year now.

But anyway, great to see Hooper hit from 3 so often, and even though Sheed was only in 2 or 3 plays in the video, he looked sharp getting to the rim easily and finishing (reason he's here) as well as making a nice pass to Obekpa for a dunk (or layup?).
