I'd like to see Syracuse head into the tournament undefeated, and then lose in the second round, ruining their whole season.

Syracuse is the kind of team to get upset by an 8 seed in the tourney.

Have barely fought of the likes of

Minnesota, Baylor, St Francis, St Johns, Boston College, Miami (twice), Wake Forest.

A team like Texas beats them as an 8 seed.
 
1) Tough call. On one hand, I hate the Orange, even more than in the past as they brought about the final downfall of the original BE. Traitors. On the other, I want the Dukes/UNCs to experience "be careful what you wish for", and to be ground into fine powder.

2) 'Cuse. Tough to beat them in the dome.
 
1. Dook. It's nice to root against Cuse without a pang of guilt that they're a Big East team.

2. Cuse. Bah.
 
The game ends abruptly due to a bench clearing brawl, whereby both teams forfeit the remaining games on their schedules, and are banned from post season play for the next 3 years. :fight: :eek:hmy:
 
Breaking it down:

1) The players: I don't hate either team's players. No more than I'd hate North Koreans, Cubans, Persians. Victims of their regimes.
2) The coaches: I don't like the Rat. I don't like Boeheim - but found I dislike Boeheim less as years go by. He'd have stayed in the BE, always spoke well of our program in serious moments. The Rat is just the Rat - says the right things outwardly. Slight edge to Cuse here because I've found I'm disliking Boeheim less over time. The sideline tantrums, the most annoying coach on the bench, the whining to refs have diminished considerably over time
3) The fans - Syracuse fans are more annoying during games. In our house, MSG, they take it over. Duke fans, at least the ones that travel here, are merely brighter, more successful, and probably wealthier than Cuse fans, are more subdued in MSG. Off the court, I like the Cuse alums I know. Toss up.
4) The circumstances - Duke, core part of the carpet bagging ACC who took Syracuse for what? - money. Syracuse, grabbed at the money - when is enough is enough? Answer - never.
5) Location: If you're from my family, I'd side with you against anyone in my neighborhood. If you're from my neighborhood, I'd side with you against an outsider. Syracuse is still NY, so my gut says go with them.

Hmm. I don't see any reasons to want either Duke or Syracuse, but I guess it would bring me a slight satisfaction knowing a BE team is ripping the ACC to shreds.

Ok I'm for Syracuse, and Syracuse will win.
 
I live in N,C., you can't get seasons tickets to Duke until you donate at least $10,000 and still pay for the cost of the ticket.That makes the cost of the ticket at least$500 each assuming your getting 2.That is why the GARDEN is cheap for the Duke fan.My next door neighbor a Duke fan,his Season tickets were negotiated at his divorce. That is why whenever Duke is in N.Y.,the cost of the game,including the cost of the hotel and meals,is cheaper and he is getting a better seat. They are insane here,I would assume that the SYRACUSE fan must cough up to get season tickets too. We made a mistake to agree to play Syracuse at Syracuse ,they should have agreed to play us at the GARDEN only,it is their home court also
 
Cuse is only laying 2.5 at the Dome. Place is packed already and the game starts at 6 30( gameday)

I think Duke wins this game. I don't think Syracuse is as good as their record, but I've been underestimating them for a decade out of pure hate. I really just don't think they are that great this year, though, at least not undefeated great. I love the PG, but he's just a freshman and he's not a super athlete. He has to mess up somewhere, right? CJ Fair is great but he's not a superstar. He doesn't have the handle to create, and I keep waiting for him to try and do too much. Jabari Parker is limited by nothing.

Duke has the most impressive collection of shooters you'll find in the country. 2/3's of their roster that even takes treys is averaging above that 35% from three. It's crazy.

Duke by 10.
