St Johns has 2 excellent traditions. One older and one newer. The thanksgiving thing is great and Dribble for the Cure is the next one. I know a bunch of guys here have done the dribble thing in the past and I think it started with Lavin so all of you diehards looking to do something this weekend it will be a great opportunity to get to see Mullin for a truly great cause. Take lots of pics of the event of you can

Chris will not be there this year. Apparently he has a scheduling conflict.

Yeah, but heard today he won’t be there. Perhaps he has something personal or SJU related function to attend.

Having attended a few times, it is a fun day as you noted.

Appointment with cable guy to hook him up with reception of Golden State games. (just kidding and do hope it is nothing serious).

Well maybe Ed Blankmeyer will show up at Eisenhower Park this Saturday! Sorry, I know it doesn't really belong here but it's still a charity and figured not many will see it in the baseball section. The League of Yes is an organization which gives special needs children a chance to practice baseball skills and I believe they may even have some mini games. St. John's is sponsoring the event and it's literally called "St. John's Day". The SJ baseball team is said to be going or at least some players. I will be volunteering along with a lot of other SJ alums. Should be fun if anyone's interested.

Ummmmm I apologize. Even though the St Johns website lists Mullin and Coach T as being there you guys might be disappointed. My apologies for posting what St Johns wrote

Coach T just landed two good out of state recruits. He'll probably a fun guy to talk to if Mullin won't be making it.

I interviewed an sju grad a few days ago who was a little short on experience, but long on volunteerism and a hear for social justice. She volunteered at Bread and Life, and her full ride Ozanam (sp?) Scholarship included sju paid service trips around the world. I was impressed both with her and sju for encouraging and offering such service opportunities. I may just offer her a job yet. Good people are in short supply.

I am so pleased by the 14 year army vet I hired as an intern and subsequently add ft. Sju for its part honored 20 or so students who are military vets at halftime of a game last season.

I'm not sure if the team helping out at Thanksgiving was initiated by lavin or Robert's, but I do know that both took an active interest in developing kids into fine adults and both should be praised for that, independent of success or failure on the court.

There are some great initiatives at sju, and I'm honored to be a part of one or two. While there is always room for valid objective criticism there is some really great stuff happening.

Th bread and life thing definitely goes back before Lavin. Heck I thought it went back before Norm but could be wrong but that too is a great tradition

I remember norm speaking about building a community among his team, even praying together. The thanksgiving thing is a great example and tradition for the team.

Please use a #2 pencil to complete the following multiple choice question:

Chris Mullin.......

A.) has a poor sense of what events/meetings are important for him to attend.

B.) is dealing with a significant personal or health matter.

C.) is not "all in" and doesn't care that he and his staff are getting outworked

D.) will let it ride this year and is leaving in April regardless of the outcome.

Apparently you are going. Please let me know which men's coaches are there. Thanks.

As a survivor I have attended every DfC and the head coach has led the walk every year. I would be very disappointed if Chris is absent this year given a personal situation of his that should have compelled him to attend. I will see for myself on Saturday but hope coach can make a short appearance at the start.

We give each other lots of crap, but you are a great fan and supporter of the program.
