Do we still have a chance -- NCAA Tourney?

I will keep the hope alive until we are mathematically done.
Do you guys think 21-10 and 10-8 in BE + 1 or 2 wins in BE tourney get us in?
I am trying to be positive but i just do think we can hang. My kids are more predictable than our team.
What is your opinion?.. what is the magic #?

Doing a quick look at the schedule i have us 20-11 9-9 That is not enough. I also think that i am being generous based on latest performances..

Providence W
@ Butler L
Creighton W
DePaul W
@Xavier Musketeers L
@ Georgetown L
Seton Hall Pirates W
Xavier Musketeers W
Georgetown Hoyas W
@Marquette W
@ Villanova Wildcats L

there is always a chance. We might even win the BE tournament like Providence did last year. But the chances are slim, very slim

I think your picks are a best case scenario and our season leans toward worst case scenario, which means we win 1 of Gtown, X & Hall at home and 50/50 at Marquette. That puts us at 18-13 and playing on Wednesday night of the BE Tourney. I would love to see some additional wins but I am not at all optimistic.

We have a chance, but not a good chance. I'd put odds at 15% to get an at large or Big East tournament championship. If the team was healthy it'd be higher.

So you're telling me there's a chance!!!

I think if we go 10-8 we are almost definitely in this year with the quality of the Big East. 9-9 puts us on the bubble and we might need to win a game or 2 in the BET. Have to go at least 5 out of 6 at home and win 2 of the games on the road against Marquette, Butler, X and Gtown. Not easy, but doable if we are somewhat healthy.

We lost too many close games. Paultzman said it best" Too big of a hole and not enough shovels". Now factor in that DLO is not 100%, Sheed is injured and we have no depth and a 2-5 BE record. Doesn't look good.

Because the Big East is stronger than last year, I think an argument can be made that we get in with that record (depending on how other bubble teams fare of course). If nothing else we are on the bubble heading into the Big East Tournament if that scenario plays out. Problem is that I don't see how we can get to 20 wins and 9 conference wins with Harrison & Jordan hurt and our lack of depth in the front court.

If someone knocks Nova out of the BE tournament we could beat any other team in the field. Of course we could lose to any other team in the field as well. :( At this point winning the BE tournament may be our best chance.

A team with a six man rotation playing back to back games does not seem like a recipe for success.

Damn...unfortunately true.

I don't buy any of this the way its been stated. If we were playing well and ran into some tough luck, I'd say winning 8 out of 11 in this conference is very doable. But when you are playing like crap in the second half 3-8 is more likely. In basketball you can turn it around quickly, especially in this league where it isn't like there is tons of talent, but its more up to how we are playing than who our opponents are.

Why are Creighton, Depaul, and Seton Hall presumed wins?
Didn't we just lose to all three of those teams?

If we got to 20 or 21 wins, sure there's a chance we could make the tournament, but what makes anyone think this team is about to turn things around? This is the same team we have been watching all season. We played a lot of cupcakes, and that inflated everyone's sense of how good the team was playing.

Hell yes we do...I mean I think we do...or we kind of have a chance...ummm, I mean I hope we still have a chance.

And this is a "good" year for us!

Ahhh, the life of being a St. John's fan.

Exactly. Not winning the BE tournament.
