With all the (justifiable) negativity on the board lately, I thought a positive post on a Sunday morning was needed. It has been said on many threads better by others, but what a revelation he has been. A warrior who brings it every game and his growth as a person before our eyes is what college athletics is supposed to be all about.

Now back to the negatives ...

Yes he certainly has become a fine representative of the program. But all the players are good kid trying hard Hope their luck changes again and they getting ti winning for themselves and for the school.Yesterday was a tough loss a very winnable game . It was not meant to be .A lot of if if certain players hit a couple more shots, perhaps if Jordan 's problems were not such that he could have stayed and played ? After swallowing the last defeat and separating my disappointment still glad we have these kid and staff. We will get to the dance this yr!!

He has come an enormous way since he started. He's managed to channel his energy into something positive. He has become a team player, a leader by personality, and a leader by example. It's great to watch a guy give complete effort every second on the floor, take the shots he needs to take, and be just as happy when somebody else scores as if he scored himself.

I don't think the team would have a .500 record without him on the floor. He absolutely provides things that we do not get from anywhere else.

Without a doubt the heart and soul of the program right now.

One thing you have difficulty ascertaining without being there at a game is the complete temperament of the team, including individuals. Harrison made nearly all good decisions on the court yesterday, including taking the ball right at Butler to the hoop when we were frantically trying to catch up. Each time defenders were tentative, and backed off just enough to give Dlo a clear path to the hoop. The one sequence that killed us was when Pointer had to attempt a long range missile - ill advised. But back to my original point - Harrison not only remains the heart and soul of this team, which of course is self evident. But he is so under control and relaxed in his role, that he spends a good amount of each game smiling, encouraging, and leading his teammates during play, breaks in action while on the court, and on the sidelines during timeouts and breathers. The transformation is so startling, so complete, that not only is Harrison moving up the all time scorers list, but also up the list of all time St. John's great players, of which there have been many.

Wish he had another year of eligibility. He wants to get to the dance so bad. Just once in 4 years isn't a lot to ask for.

Unfortunately ,he can't win the game by himself. My 4th all time favorite johnny behind Mullin,Berry and Seally.

Quite a shame if (likely) Dee reaches such a lofty status in SJU scoring history, but never plays in NCAA Tourney. Sad.

All you need is a little push, a little motivation from a respected basketball mind, and sometimes a good player becomes a great player.

:woohoo: :silly:

Funny moment from last night, I was close enough to the court to hear the players, and after not getting a foul call on a jumper that ended up not touching rim, D'Lo jawed at the ref about it having to be a foul:

"I've never shot an air ball in my life!!"
