A lot of basketball to be played. ISU might’ve been what the Dr ordered. Coaches need to dissect, and players needed to be humbled.

Let’s go Johnnies!
Well, I don't know about that, but:

While I wanted both games, if I could only get one win between Iowa St. and Depaul, I'd pick Depaul. It's a conference game, and would be a bad loss, much worse than Iowa St.

Cannot be said enough, this is a massive game.

Every big East win is so vital. A home game against a team we think will be lower half of the table. Has to be a win.
the over used term must win this early in the season Let's be real it really is a must win A Home game

Big Red in the IST thread you had mentioned that Omar is sick and Dylan was benched. It’s the only report bc ESPN is inept and no local reporter traveled.

Having to bench a player in such a huge game for us does not bode well at all for a junior who is already underperforming. If I remember correctly Dylan was also benched during a DR game, forgive me if I’m off.

Is Omar’s sickness the same bug that Mathis caught earlier last week? He would’ve been huge for us today and need him back asap. Thanks.

Btw I agree, avoid a street game and we will be repairing a lot of the holes on both sides of the ball from today. Play DePaul’s game and we are in danger similar to the Chicago matchup last season.

We need to play signicificantly better then we did today to beat depaul. After todays loss, this is a huge game vs depaul.

We lose this and the 'Fire CMA" chatter might reach epic proportions.

You will hear the Fire CMA chatter if we lose a player ot two to the transfer portal because I'm not sure we have happy campers.

We should win this game, i'm more concerned with starting this game. It's hard to win after going down 22-5.
They should be real embarrassed, so I'm expecting a real good game from start to finish.
If not, then I will be very concerned.

It’s a new game and a new day. We will learn early on what this team is made of in terms of pride. Although that’s half the equation as being prepared is the other half. It won’t be easy but being that it’s a home game and the team has enough talent to win I believe they take down DePaul.

I think SJ will win this at home, but I have my concerns about this team’s potential to Dance. To me ISU’s template of going at Joel to get him in foul trouble, aggressively denying Jones ball and allowing Posh to take jumpers rather than drives will be replicated by savvy BE coaches.

Curbelo seems a “giveth & taketh” type and I find him very chippy at times. Hopefully MA reins him in a bit.

Really would like to know why Stanley & Wusu didn't play yesterday. Can anyone confirm that Stanley was illness and Wusu just coach's DNP decision? We will really miss Stanley if he is out for any more games.

Jones forcing long threes. He needs to take them in flow but again other teams know he is our best player. Neither point can or really should shoot threes. Either Mathis who has improved has to shoot more or Pinzon and or Storr has to play regular minutes.

really don't know if I like Curbelo.

Loved him after the Syracuse game. But have hated him at times this year too.

I understand our style of play is chaotic but I'd prefer a PG who can manage the game, keep turnovers down, push the pace when necessary (under control).

I am just not sure Curbelo is the guy. Again, people laughed at this opinion earlier in the year, but I still think I would prefer him as a spark plug 6th man off the bench. Although that is not feasible if Storr and/or Pinzon are not ready to step into that starting role

I think if anything just from what you could see, Wusu would have been my guess for sick as he wasn’t dressed it appeared. Still, just like you and the rest of us NC, wondering what the deal was in a big game. Neither guy not playing should be news.
