Continuing our habit of making some unknown scrub a hero. #51

His only asset is he can shoot. Lovett needs to commit to a little defense. Allowing the kid to catch and shoot will make him look like a star.

cant see DePaul continue to shoot the three this well in the second half. Especially that Harrison-Docks guy

Things were looking good until Ahmed missed the dunk. Not the first one he missed.

First half was a microcosm of season. Down 12 then up 3 to down 7 at the half. We are seeing the typical roller coaster progression of a young team. At times we play some defense but then we get sloppy and give up some easy baskets and fumble away opportunities to score more ourselves. Its entertaining at times but can be so frustrating.

Gotta get Ponds a lot more looks in the second half. Also, still allowing too many points. On track for DePaul putting up 80 plus.

I know that the staff is still experimenting with different lineups, but some of the combos they used in the first half were real head scratchers.

Hate seeing Freud and Amar on the floor at the same time. Got to get something from our bigs.

Need some easy baskets. Transition or inside lay ups. Get too the line also. DePaul has made a couple of difficult 3's wich is the difference.

Spot on, insane during their late run.

Yeah know it's hard to win on the road esp in conference but gotta find a way to win here. Next step in maturation process.

Difficult and at the end of the shot clock. Tough

Monte I am not sure which combos you didn't like? Not disagreeing at all, I just wonder if they are trying to make sure we aren't gassed by halftime. Personally, I would never take Ponds or Lovett off the floor. However, its a long game and my thinking is not realistic. Our lack of skilled bigs make the balancing act difficult I think.

At one point we had Lovett-Ellison-Amar-Yakwe-Owens. That is just unacceptable.

There were a few points were we had some very strange front court combos. Maybe Amar, Freud and Yakwe on court at same time.
