DePaul, Mon. Jan. 16, 4:30pm, FS1/970AM

Won't be able to make the DePaul game on Monday. I have two tickets if anyone is interested. PM me and I can e-mail them to you through my MyJohnnies account.

Need to win this game. I am fearful if we lose things will spiral out of control

Agree. Hard to think of any game as a "must win" with the kind of season we're having, but this one fits the bill.

Good news - 3 point win by Johnnies on ill advised 40 foot jumper by Amar early in shot clock in last possession.

Bad news - In his excitement Amar sprints to bench flattening Matt, who is subsequently put in body cast and unable to recruit for a year.

Sad to say, the latter more likely than the former.

Exactly how will things "Spiral out of control"? Three of our last 4 games were against teams that are ranked #3, #10, #16 in the country -- none of which we were expected to win, or even come close. Most of the preseason polls had us finishing 7th or 8th in the Big East and that's exactly where we stand right now. If we lose to DePaul, maybe we'll need to steal one against Providence to stay out of last place. But the season is a wash and the only things that really matter right now are: (a) recruiting and (b) hanging onto to our existing talent. I don't think our performance yesterday affected either and I don't think the result of the next few games will, either.

And I hear Amar banked the 3pter in

PS: The most important development for SJU this week, by far, was the discovery that Zach Brown would rather pursue a life of crime than a basketball career. We desperately need talent like him to be competitive in the frontcourt. That recruiting loss is far more important than yesterday's result (we did beat the spread) or tomorrow's game against DePaul. I see tons of things that Mullin is doing that I disagree with and bitch about here, but we are nowhere close to spiral-out-of-control territory. But if we don't produce some solid frontcourt guys for next year, we will be then.

Agree about the front court but I think what Bucknastty might be thinking is kind of what my thought is and that's we need to win the few games we can win and hopefully steal one or 2 ( Something Brown would know about ) so the season doesn't end in meltdown on the court which could affect morale and create tons of bad press and not exactly help with recruiting. I was thinking 15 wins before the season started. Now I'm just hoping we get to double digits

How will things spiral out of control? Tomorrow is a game we should win. If we lose kids will be extremely down, 4 game losing streak with possibility of it turning into an extensive streak. A win builds confidence and makes players believe in what they are doing. If you are competing you do not like losing every game it is just common sense.

Regarding Carnesecca, anyone know if they allow you to show the bar code from your e-ticket on your phone, or do you need to print it?

I know it depends on each arena.

WE did not have an easy time when we last played them. This game is a toss up. If we can not win here it is possible we may not get another BE win this yr which would be devastating to our recruiting and the program

Have 2 tickets if anyone wants them. I can scan and email. PM me.
