Depaul game thread

Good grief, I have no fingernails left. That was fugly. I thought when D-Lo fouled out we were done. Every basket took so much effort and DePaul looked much livelier than us. Sir'Dom and Jakarr came up big... We should have won in regulation - by making our FTs!!!
 
The most important thing is we just got thru the last few games that we HAD to win. Couldnt afford a stinker.

Now we have to steal 1 of these other games that I didnt think we would win . Saturday is going to be real tough but we owe Gtown
 
Handled adversity well, No rebounding before OT, Harrison fouling out, Refs being atrocious. Very gutty win. Is there a bigger brick layer Ive seen at the foul line than CO , lol. Even Welsh was saying they should be ready for long rebounds.

How was the crowd tonight?? Close to sell out? better be considering they were selling students tickets for 5 bucks.

It's absolutely true - someone on the St. John's staff has to tell him to put a little more arc on his foul shot so it drops softer on the rim. It's painful to watch him clank it off the back of the rim 6 out 8 times he takes a free throw...
 
On a separate note I think the biggest beneficiary of Orlando not playing right now is Dom Pointer. Not sure he'd be doing this all right now if Orlando was playing
 
Gutsy win. Thank you Sir Dom and Jakarr for stepping up. We have to learn how to stop letting teams get back in games! I'm glad we found a way to win, though. My sleep won't be as restless as i thought...
 
Pretty typical game for us: not great on free-throws, out-rebounded by double digits, we have few turnovers and play pretty solid defense. We give all of our fans aneurysms.

Depaul was 18-20 from the free throw line which is outstanding.
St. John's was 17-27; not great at all.

We were outstanding on turnovers though - only 5 of them.

Rebounding we were our usual selves.
 
All's well that ends well ... I suppose ... but this team is taking precious years off of my life, and I really don't have that many more to spare.

(Sir Dom is a special player. We're very lucky to have him.)
 
Obekpa is the worst FT I've ever seen at his point. His confidence is completely shaken, and I have no doubt he faked the injury last week when he was fouled with few minutes left. Also, Sampson needs to cut down all that motion before his FTs.

This really should have been a 15-20 point win, but it was a gritty effort nonetheless. STJ looked like the much better team to me, although they were probably playing not to lose. STJ really has to pay G'town back, because you just do not get swept in conference play. Period.

Wonderful win for the five guys on the court in overtime. That will help us down the road.
I took two things away from this game:
1) DePaul is one of the best coached defensive teams I have seen this year, they just didn't match up to
our athleticism in the end.
2) Indigestion

crowd wasn't a sellout but close. hopefully more ppl will show up to the garden when they play uconn. i'll be there.
 
Definitely going to be at the UCONN game.

Gonna be at work but I hope we make it interesting Saturday @ Gtown and ultimately walk away with a W.

DVR don't fail me now.
