Deepest Teams in College Hoops- ESPN

It is amazing Glover was so highly ranked out of high school. He was a 6'4 PF. I loved his work ethic and he did have a ton of sill inside, but he had no chance to play the three. He'd be great on this team.

Lol beast really ? We are going to be a top 25 team all year long . So what we don't have a player of the year type player we don't need that , why ? Because we have 5 nba players on the roster . Orlando Sanchez , Jakar Sampson ( who has a choice of staying 3 more years to better his game), Chris obekpa (also has 3 years left to work on his offense if he wants but his defense and 7'6 wingspan and athleticism gets him in the NBA), Rasheed Jordan , and sir dom pointer (has 2 years to work on his Jump shot but his defense and athleticism gets him in the NBA think tony Allen). We're deep , talented , experienced , we are guard heavy , we have big bodies all the qualities you need to make a deep run in the tourney.

Five NBA players on the roster? You name two guys who have yet to play a college game and you are proclaiming them NBA players? Obekpa has a long way to go in terms of his development, and at this point he is a one-trick pony (blocked shots) who has intrigued scouts by that singular ability. HE hasn't shown that he can be either an effective defender or high end rebounder, and as we know, his offensive skills are negligible. Sir Dom has limited offensive ability, and has not proven to be a lock-down defender - certainly hasn't exhibited defensive prowess that would outweigh the lack of offensive skills. I like Jakarr, but he plays a small forward type of game, and there is a ton of talent worldwide at that position - as a sophomore though he has time to improve.

The NBA is the best league on this planet, and now attracts talented players from everywhere. To perform on this stage you have to be the very best of the very best. I would take Dwight Hardy in his senior year over any of the players you listed as NBA players, and he is in Italy now. DJ Kennedy has a nice skillset, and a well rounded game, and is trying to make an NBA roster.

I like this squad as having a very deep D1 talent level roster with at least 10 guys deserving minutes - but I don't think our best players compare favorably to the best players on any top 15-20 team. That's all. Basketball IS a team game, and sometimes the confluence of an aggregate of talent can be enough to win games, but I have this theory about basketball. I call it the 12-5-1 rule. Twelve players, only 5 of them on the court at once, and only 1 ball. This is why a Michael Jordan can take 35 shots, score 50 points, and beat an opponent almost singlehandedly.

Beast, I agree. Until it happens on the Court this year, I'm not sure our fans forecasts for 25 wins, etc are likely. This should be a nice team. Hopefully. There were many deficiencies in the defense, rebounding, shooting, foul shooting last year. Until there is marked improvement in all those facets, expectations may exceed accomplishments.

I've said being a BE Conference contender, a NCAA appearance and doing damage in the BE Tourney should be the gpal.

Unlike many, I believe Jordan has to be a big contributor for team success, even as a frosh. He has shown he can beat people off the dribble, something missing the last 2 years and, he will need to have impact to have this team reach the next level.

Lavin has to give him meaningful minutes from the get go.

20 wins should be the goal. That may sound modest to some, but this team hasn't gotten there yet and there are 2 new important players, in Sanchez and Jordan, who have not played with the team before or in the Big East before. I see about 10 wins out of conference and 10 in conference. I would have liked to see a tougher out of conference schedule, but the new BE is unpredictable and so I think it's wise to not load up on tough opponents to quickly. 20 wins would be a good next step and get us a bid to the tournament where with the right regional draw we could do some damage.

I don't think anyone will rank us top 20 preseason for this reason. However as the team gels, there is a very good chance we could wind up in the top 20.

We do not have five NBA players on the team. Stop!

Ok marillac just cause you have that name and cause I use to love marillac I'm going to say 3 then just for you . We def have 3 on the roster no question about that .

I think we have a lot of kids on the roster who if they don't make the NBA will carve out nice careers for themselves in Europe

That would be a long list.
