DeBlasio trying to kill Cohen's purchase of Mets

Just think Boss Tweed and Carmine DeSapio. When did we learn outrage except from Daily News "Ford to City, Drop Dead."
True.

Does DeBlasio even have a strong base of supporters. Except for the fact that AOC has much grander aspirations (along with a gigantic lack of ability) I would imagine she would smoke DeBlasio in primaries should she decide to run for mayor.
Deblasio done unless he tries to pull a Bloomberg and get a 3rd term. Front runners right now for next mayor are Eric Adams and Scott Stringer.

Haha. As much as DeBlasio's term has seemed to run forever, I had forgotten about term limits in NYC. Could you imagine what kind of future he may have politically as a candidate? I can't see him running for governor or Senate, but possibly Congress?

NYC is going to have major financial budget problems because of DeBlasio and Covid. Mark it down now. Ray McGuire-life long finance big wig I think he at one time was in consideration to head the NY Federal Reserve Bank.. Forget everyone else this is the guy. Basketball tie too which most dont know. His wife is the mother of Cole Anthony

Hearing very good things about McGuire. Moderate Dem. Hope his campaign gains traction. Although "moderate" ain't a selling point in NYC right now. Nice find on Cole Anthony connection. You're so much more then just a lobster role aficionado. ;)

DeBlasio ran for President so I don't put anything past him
I, for one, hopes he finishes his term and rides out into the sunset
We've had more than enough of this guy IMO

It could be why if true, he has enriched himself at the expense of taxpayers. He's far from the only politician who has used his office to get himself and family rich.

Time to stop talking about DeBozo and get on with the Mets Future under an owner will do something th improve the team unlike the Wilpons who got the team cheap, then bought out Doubleday. In 1986 they paid $40M for 50% and then bought out in 2002 for $135M and look what they are selling it for. They are probably overextended on their Real estate and did things "on the cheap" and that is what us long suffering Mets fans--baseball on the cheap.

Let's look forward and talk about the 2020 free agent market that opens soon. Needs versus players available. With Steve Cohen we should be players in the market with the Ynks, Dodgers and Red Sox. Forget resigning Cespides in my opinion. First choice is catcher--Realmuto. Starting Pitcher--Trevor Bauer. Relief Pitching--Hendricks of Oakland.
That hedge fund guy is a total cheat and got away with it. Only because of fancy lawyering and the SEC and district attorney's unwilling to risk losing a court battle, did he get away with. I'd rather not reward that dude with giving him a such a public toy to flaunt. Sell the team to another billionaire.
I don’t care if he’s the Devil I’ve suffered enough
