DeBlasio is a total failure as Mayor. It is a shame that in a city as great as New York, this is all we could come up with as Mayor.
Before reading this article, I had no idea who Cohen was. I find it unbelievable that eight people who worked for him could plead guilty or be convicted of insider trading and he can make a deal. This should have been a RICO case. I can't even fathom the amount of money they must have been making to pay a 1.8 billion dollar fine. This type of GREED is what is destroying our country right now. The real crime is that so called "white collar" criminals are allowed to walk free.
Now, if I have a friend working in Best Buy and he sells me a 60" inch TV but on the sales slip it says a 24" inch TV which is 1/3 of the price, we are both going to jail if we get busted. Talk about "Green Privilege", SMH..
On top of the stealing, these greedy individuals want tax breaks. The general public celebrates them as business tycoons, LMAO.
You can't make this SHIT up. DeBlasio the failure and Cohen the criminal going at each other. What is this world coming to???
Unfortunately, we've become accustomed to corruption at the highest levels of our society, so accustomed, we are numb to serious allegations of white collar crimes being committed. A long time ago, way before the internet, I maintained that all forms of media were merging into one. The people with the real power are the ones who control the messaging.
How many Mets fans would still want this deal to go through no matter how Cohen made his money? How many people wanted Pitino here? How many really don't care if someone is a sexual predator or rapist if it's someone they like? Or care if used a position of power to rake in millions?
Long before the U.S. is toppled as a world power, we will be finished as a society because of the things that no longer outrage us. We used to care about these things, Panther. Many of us still do care, but not enough of us, sadly.
