Dear Mr. Monasch

Good point, but you will never, ever, ever hear a Merry Christmas at a Yeshiva. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're wrong, again. But please don't let that stop you from spouting your none-too-subtle, anti-Semitic generalizations because I will "never, ever, ever" get tired of reading those.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem will grant students a vacation day this upcoming Thursday to celebrate Christmas.....

Thanks for the late breaking news. Glad to see times are a changin'.

To get back on point.

Monasch always looks miserable, he is not outgoing- How is he have a job when one important quality of a AD is to be outgoing.

He may be "outgoing" soon. :)

I'm currently attending Touro College for grad school, which is a Jewish school, and I received an email from the president of the school wishing all students a Happy Chanukah. I'm Catholic, and it would've been nice for him to at least mention Christmas or even "happy holidays", but I don't lose sleep over it.

Not losing sleep over things that don't really impact you negatively is a wise way to go through life. Mazel Tov!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and a prosperous New Year to all.

St. John's represents Queens in my mind. Let's all get along.

I guess wishing Jews a Happy Hanukkah is not enough for you.

Or expressing great respect for observant Jews. you have a problem with either comment?

Thanks for the link. It's great that the Hebrew University allows Christian students time off for Christmas, as Christian Universities allow Jewish students to observe the high holy days of Judaism.

Interesting perspective from some Jewish students within that article: Despite the praise, there were those who criticized the decision. "Pluralism is making the university lose it's mind," Roni, a student told the religious Kipa news site. "It isn't enough that we barely get days off for [Jewish] holidays, now they've decided to celebrate a Christian holiday that is in no way related to us?" he told the site.

Would you call that student Anti-Christian?

Or maybe you are just Anti-Catholic, as it appears. Or are you just so insecure in your own lack of faith that you want to repress the most exuberant greeting of the Christian faith, "Merry Christmas" on a Catholic campus?

Hebrew University is not a Yeshiva. Just for your edification. Happy Hanukkah.

I don't wish a loss of a job on anybody but I've been around him over the past few years, in red white club, seats near him at games, what is he so miserable for? Maybe he should go to a desk job instead of being the face of athletics.

OY VEY!
Finally a thread that made me laugh out loud!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Festivus, Happy New Year!!

Seriously ! He is such a colorless, lifeless, dispirited, unimaginative automoton. You'd think with so much to work with ( bb history, NYC, MSG, Madison Avenue) he'd come up with some ideas. Can we hire the Syracuse AD ?

Th Syracuse AD is a scumbag.

Dear Mr. Monasch,

Smile more! Look happy. Especially now!!

If we want to put a positive spin on his demeanor before/after SJU games is that Monasch wants to win as badly as we do. He has invested in a big time salary, and simply being competitive is not good enough for him. If he's like me, he is cautiously optimistic because we need to be injury free and we need solid bench players to emerge to carry us through a competitive home and home series BE schedule. I hope he can pause today and smile at the fact that we've taken care of business in the first part of the schedule so far.
