Darien Williams

Fine just continue with the Obama and liberal banter.
Good thing JohnnyJungle exists!

JohnnyJungle is almost unreadable for the constant trolling and bickering that runs rampant among a handful of ego maniacs who seems to post the most. Thank goodness we have Redmen.com, it actually feels like a real community.

St. John's transfer Darien Williams is still open, he tells me. UConn, Pitt, and Nevada have been involved. #sjubb

Still don't understand his departure.

That said, I greatly appreciate the timing of his commitment and the often exciting contributions. Best of luck to DWill on and off the court.

If I missed it on another thread , my apologies, but seems Malik Ellison has signed with Pitt. Based on tweet from Ron Mvourika (sp?)

i still say if we have a ship for this year give it to DWill. Its only one year and we know we have a couple of good minutes with him. Plus his size, seems like no brainer. From what i hear his teammates love him

he would have another year eligibility right?

By all indications he is gone.

Yes, he has one more year of eligibility remaining
But apparently he doesn't want to use it at St John's

Cappy, the addition of a talented athletic forward like Sidney Wilson all but killed that possibility.
Williams doesn't want to be used to cover the opposing team's bigs because of the physical requirements of the assignment. I'm not sure he even has the stamina to keep up with the rest of the players like Ponds, Lovett, Ahmed, Clark.

I know it's been said that this ship has sailed as far as a return, but haven't heard a peep about him recently being likely to go elsewhere...

Any news ?

Leaving St. John's.

St. John's grad transfer Darien Williams tells me he will visit Nevada on June 9th. Immediately eligible. #SJUBB

Why Nevada over staying at SJU?
You gotta think Darien would be the first Big to sub for Owens, or maybe even start Darien?

But, oh well, it's up to him

He's better off being a big fish in a small pond. Like Christian Jones last year. Winning is nice but setting up a potential pro career should be his #1 priority.

Nevada is going to be very good this year. Highly likely to be better then us. Although they are small like us.
